Went down to Brissy's Story Bridge this morning to see these 2 champions off on their epic journey to Sydney. Please get behind them and support what they are doing for a very worthwhile cause.
Michael Leith & Tony Miller-Greenman paddling Brisbane to Sydney
to promote mental and physical health.
On 27 December 2013 Tony & Michael will embark on an epic 920km paddle from Brisbane to Sydney to promote men's physical and mental health.
Tony & Michael will be departing the Brisbane CBD from the Kangaroo Point foreshore under the famous Story Bridge at 6am on 27th December 2013. The pair will commence their 920km journey to Sydney with the hope of covering between 30 to 50km per day, reaching Bondi Beach in New South Wales on Australia Day the 26th January 2014. The pair will have a support crew following them via car as they travel south along the coast that will rehydrate and feed the pair along their journey. As the night falls, they will scramble to the shore to eat, feed and allow their aching muscles to recover, whilst preparing themselves for the next leg the following day. Throughout the journey Tony & Michael will be updating this website with photos and videos showing the progress and obstacles faced and hopefully their efforts will prompt numerous donations to the charity, Beyond Blue.

Good Luck to these BOYS.
Huge effort for a great cause.
Tony has been training hard down at Currumbin with our group, Quantum SUP Training Group and he is on a new DC/NSP.
So best of luck and we will see the tomorrow for the paddle past the coast.
Well done to Tony and Michael and. Crew....what an excellent cause. Should be an unforgettable experience!
Hoping the sup community digs deep for this cause! Amazing adventure these lads are doing to raise awareness for beyond blue. Amazing humans
I caught up with the guys again this morning to do the run from Jacobs well to runaway bay. They then headed off to mermaid then currumbin.
Keep paddling guys, doing well!
Read an article on these guys in the Tele a couple of days ago.
Huge effort and hope and pray they don't get the 50+ knot southerlies Sydney copped over the weekend.
Keep us posted as often as possible.
Dale and I joined them yesterday from the Seaway to Currumbin. The conditions were great for their first ocean leg with little swell and a nice NE breeze. From Burleigh to Currumbin was always going to be a lot more challenging in a NE but they handled it well. They should go well and those DC/NSP boards looked nice and stable.
Today they will be heading from Hastings Point back to Currumbin as there is a nice Southerly. No point in paddling upwind unless they have to.

Yep those winds were crazy and definitely wouldn't want to paddle into them. That southerly change rolled into the Goldy around dusk on Sunday, after the days paddling was done.
Yesterday's wind wasn't as strong, but still blowing from the south, so the boys decided to paddle yesterday's leg in reverse heading down to Pottsville and paddling back to Currumbin, and they're doing the same today.
Pretty smart choice if you ask me, no need to waste energy when it's not a race and they're not trying to break any records. The paddle is all about promoting men's mental & physical health and raising funds for the much needed support that Beyond Blue offers to those suffering from mental illness, so good on them for keeping it fun along the way!
