Wow!.. That's a lot of water..

It'd be like someone dropping an Olympic size swimming pool of water on your head.

Yeah - 4 metres - 12 foot - that'd be Hawaiian scale.

From the back I would say 1 ft as there is no back.

Its like one of those 'heavy for their size' shoreys, but Hawaiian style!

It probably is only 4m (because it has no back as hilly said), but that is a bit of a false scale for this wave isn't it (being so sucky and that) look at the ravine at the bottom of the wave, way below sea level!

It's a very weird looking wave - so much volume. Definitely a Laird size. The face of it is around 41' - it's got to be around 7 times the size of the rider. I'd die for sure being caught up in that.

Brooko, I thought it was at a "secret location" how come you know more about it than anyone else does - Where is Cyclops?

The subtitle of the main picture says 'somewhere in between margaret river and south australia'. I'm pretty sure cyclops is another shelf break way up in the north west.

Cyclops is off the coast of Esperance wa, It is way out to see and just has a grid reference on a gps, It was found about 5yrs ago by local crayfisherman, I have never surfed it but a few of my mates have, It is square

It's not so much a wave as the whole ocean moving, more like the surges you get in WA when it's flat.
Your standing on a limestone shelf with caverns underneath ready to go diving, about 4ft above the water surface and suddenly the whole ocean surges onto the shelf and its 1mtr deep with water and your on your arse trying not to get dragged out with the backwash.

Never been to cyclops tho.

I think that scene is from the Billabong Odyssey movie.

Shame he falls at the end of that clip but trying to outrun whitewater will never work.

Unless you have a paddle..
