How appropriate.

Let's see some pics of the current swell up the east coast. Here's mine. Better pics when the wind drops off.
Below: Taken from Mahon pool looking across to Sth Maroubra headland.

Below: Shot from northend.

Below: Both shots of Lurline Bay (around the corner from Maroubra)

I agree.

I had the pleasure of sharing a mid morning SUP at the Alley a couple of months back with non other than Mr G Lopez. He was a friendly guy and we shared a chat over about an hour. At one point he asked me if I know what the forecast was and I was so tempted to give him the "this is just the lemon next to the pie, its nothing, it goin to get bigger"call but I chickened out. The Masochist would have been so disappointed in me.

If I ever get the chance again . . . .

Cheers
Herb

Pics from this morning at said spot. This is right in front of cliffs, too deadly for SUP although Jan is keen to give it a go. A couple of us surf the next break along, still in front of cliffs and shallow rock ledge, but doable on a SUP:

Yes indeed. You have to see this place to believe it, it jacks out of super deep water straight onto a shallow ledge literally 20-30 meters from the base of a 100 foot cliff.

Goaties local via obct. Previous shots were from sproutdaily - they have some decent sequences that are well worth a look.

I remember watching that spot in some big swell about 10 years ago, sucking onto dry rock a few of metres away from the take off spot. It's one place i'd probably consider off limits for a Sup, but then you guys might prove me wrong

LOL, hows that guy literally hands in the air thanking god he made those two barrels.

That was sick

Looked like the same barrel to me. Also the poor bloke who gets nailed at 40 seconds. Over the falls big time

Classic day!

This was Collaroy about 9am. It looked doable until some seriously rogue sets came through and wiped out the whole take off area. We watched a tinnie that must have been sucked off the beach at Brown water, being dragged very quickly all the way around the rocks, just clearing pool to end up on the beach just north of the pipe

Managed to score a great little session at Chinaman's beach,Middle Harbor on the low tide for about an hour before schoolies hit it. Very fun wave on the 12'6 Hull!

Apparently Grotto point was smoking earlier!

yep....you could paddle out from Shelly and not even get your hair wet. When its smaller you can jump off the rock shelf in front and if you time it well paddle 20m to safety.

Hey Rob, yeah its an easy paddle but is 200 meters round the corner in front of 100 foot cliffs with nothing but big sandstone slabs at the bottom. It comes in out of really deep water then hits a shallow slab of sandstone. If ya wiped out on a SUP or goat boat you're pretty much assurred of going up on the rocks at the base of the cliff. I'd prefer to have a crack at chopes than this joint.

You should see the footage of Kelly surfing it on a 6'0" at similar size - amazing!! I tried to find it on youtube, but no luck.

Hello boys. The guy that got the barrel is a friend of mine,Benny Serrano. Such a good effort.
And the boys jumped of the rocks. Pretty sketchy around the front.
To windy for sup today.
And Rob no real channel there. Just a big sweep in a southerly swell.

If its the place Im thinking of its round the back of a rather famous headland. You would origionaly paddle off a sheltered beach and the further you paddle around the headland the more sth swell would be hitting it.Until you reach"DEAD MANS".
