First time on the perfect downwind board.. [thanks RPS].. for my first try of the new shape 14' Glide.
It's so fast.. It's so stable.. and sooooo much fun..
See if you can spot the big fin in the distance behind my right hand at about the 1.48 mark.

Great vid again DJ. How good is that board? The nose was fairly well buried and it just came straight up, awesome.

Fin or marker buoy?
If that was a fin, it would have been a Killer Whale... ??? In "the bay"???!!!
I wonder if the drop in GDP when DJ posts a video is measurable?
First post! Welcome!
Let's go with "no", although I liked where you were heading!

Nice one DJ. Although it recovers (or you had the skill to recover it), I can't help notice that the nose really likes getting under water... is it really the perfect downwind board? what's your thoughts on this board on an ocean downwinder?
Nice work with the video as always - thanks

If it was a killer whale, I'm even more pissed off that I didn't see it at the time. DJ said it was big and black.

That ain't no fin.
Wind looked a bit stronger than it was during our earlier run

It certainly was a fin and I got a real good look as it came right out of the water.. Looked like a dolphin but bigger than a large cow in size and all black.. I headed for where it was headed but it didn't come up again.. The gopro
view makes it look very small.

You must be looking at the wrong frames. Looks like a fin to me and DJ said he saw it practically breaching as he got alongside it (out of camera range).

No.. Just had them hanging around my neck.
It would be great to have you join us... Anytime.
I just finished my vid before leaving for work so when I get home I'll post some of my thoughts about the board.

They have been seen in the bay.. I think it was about this time last year they were spotted off Mornington pier.

I think it will just take a bit of getting used to.. In the same way it was with the first and second Glide..
There is a fair bit of rocker there.. I took few pics at the shop.. [RPS]

Thanks DJ, good work there. It's really hard to tell without having the old glide next to it to compare. I think some of the perceived lack of rocker is the black rail stripe near the nose which gives that illusion. I like how the deck pad come back to the tail more. That's one of the few things I can fault with the 2013 glide so far.

When I get a chance I'll explain more about what I think of the new board.. and post it in the board review section.. but.. Where they took away in nose rocker they have added in tail rocker..
So.. If you see a pearling coming it just takes a slight step back to raise the nose a little higher.

I watched the 3 vid times and didn't see the fin.. It's just a ploy to get more views on Vimeo I reckon. Could be my old eyes though.
Nice vid DJ. Was that Jean RC out there with you?
Funny - I only just came across your epic post on the 2012 vs 2011 back to back comparison. Professional stuff there DJ ! High expectations now
For those still hunting for the fin, it's at 1.52, not 1.48, just above DJ's wrist. Obviously dolphins enjoy downwinders too.
