Hey guys we had an 11km paddle race from under the harbour bridge to manly wharf. Well what can i say was painful at best as we were all paddling into a 15 to 25 knot head wind ,was extremely hard work and felt like you were going backwards talk about an upwinder!
The race was called off for some at the halfway mark as they were to slow to the cut off and the conditions were to crazy with 1 foot white caps smashing you from head on .
The winner of the sup race was Peter myers with Stuart Murray second and casso coming in third well done guys hats of to you coming through in such testing conditions.
below are some photos of the event

AMAZING! What's harder Goatie/DTM? 100ks on the MTB or 2 - 2 1/2 hrs into the wind?

um it was 3 hours for me and it was harder than the mtn bike 100kms as for a 100km mtn race you no its gunna be killer so you train your butt of . As for this i actualy thought it would be a walk in the park boy was i wrong! Im not as sore today than i thought i would be though.

No comparison - even with training the Mtn bike 100km is much harder. A 30 minute hill climb when you have been going for 6 hours is hell on earth - but like yesterday worth it in the end.

That said, I think something like the Hawkesbury classic that suplove did would be insanely hard on a SUP. Or the Molokai race - now I'd imagine that would be crazy as well.
