l've heard a few reports of Brown Snakes around the Mornington Peninsula which is where many people might be headed for the holidays(Vic)My neighbour has politely suggested l get my foot high grass cut(Rosebud),as he's seen a few.
Take care ,especially with the kids if you're along the coast.

On my way home from paddling yesterday I was waiting at a red light I saw a motorcycle rider quickly ride his bike up onto the footpath and jump about while trying to take his jacket off.. He looked like he was having a fit or something... As he threw his jacket down I saw a HUGE spider run across it and he then jumped up and down on his jacket kicking it around.. He waited for a while before he tried to pick it up and shake it and it was still there and still alive.. He dropped it like a hot potatoe and danced about like a little girl.. Then the traffic moved off and I missed the rest.. T'was too funny..

I can picture that perfectly lol, reminded me of a similar incident. I was riding my trusty yamaha when a bee decided to take refuge inside my helmet, got through the 3cm gap between visor, needless to say ended badly. No didn't stack, just swollen snoz.

Saw an 8' Diamond Python go across the track to the water at Jimmy's Beach NSW a few weeks ago. Supposed to keep the other snakes in check so I was kinda glad to see him. Quite a good looking snake. Took no notice of us. Amazed the tourists though.

My story about being bitten while riding a motorcycle was probably hilarious to any onlooker as well. A wasp (the big sort with a black & yellow abdomen) hit my leather jacket and landed on my left leg near the upper inner thigh area and bite me a beauty through my jeans.

I jumped off the bike (an old Honda XR250) and rolled on the grass verge for a few minutes in agonising pain. After a few minutes it eased so I got back on and rode home but the pain was like someone had stabbed me with a hot needle. Very painful!

They are in plague here on Phillip Island.
Might be a spot to give a miss this summer.

Yep I saw a tiger snake (small, maybe 50cm) last week just walking to check the surf at Kilcunda.
It was early as well and just chillin in the morning sun on the timber walking track.

My mate at the DSE Leongatha said the stretch between Cape Patterson to Kilcunda will definitely
be the worst it has ever been this year, also around Port Cambell. Wilsons Prom will be very bad and
considering I saw multiple tigers last year in one day (actually stepped over one) I'm tipping we
might have a few people getting bitten.
