PSH 8'9 ripper quad. Don't go wide. Spend the time and get used to a standard as your rail to rail transition is heaps better. Good luck. Div

Ring Scott at Greenline (0412 398585) - he has a handful of PSH demo boards including 8'6 wide ripper, 9'11 wide ripper and 8'9 ripper. He's also only 45mins from Byron.

Hey Halfcut, if you are worried about the stability try a 10' McTavish. It is unreal!! I have one set up as a quad and it goes like a scolded cat and is very stable even for my 112 odd kgs. You will not regret it, the 9'6 would be good too but if is a bit onshore the extra stability will make the 10' more fun Good Luck

Can't go wrong with a 9'5 Naish Mana as a starter board. I have one to learn on and even after going narrower I still go back to it for some fun. I'm 90kgs.

Be wary of the crowds at Byron if your just starting out. The Pass is usually packed but you should be able to find a bank there somewhere without too many people on it.

Have Fun

The PSH 9-2 wide ripper is a great board and definetly worth trying , it's PSH's top seller.

Re: The Pass the locals can be dead set d!ckheads best to stay away until you can hold your own in a crowd.

hey,

if your in byron - the pass - do watch for the locals as yes some can be dick heads - one square jawed 'id in a truckers cap on a long board...however there is hope...straight out from the boat ramp, 50m past the spectators stairs, is a reefy bit
(s) where ya can pick up a great left toward the line, while staying out of the 'throng... further down the beach near where you'll see the surf schools gather is pretty cool too...ask noel

A lot cooler plus there is more space and different peaks at the moment

yeah i agree, but ive found the crew there older...so we get less unless you like a late drop and sit inside them, there's a nice bank from middle towards bull****s' that walls up very nice towards the end, a good kick out is required ( the side of my baby could tell you) little wategos is great on the re-frac' but then the ole boys think so too...bloodly beautiful spot butt.

Hey all,
Back from Byron
thank's all for info, Couldn't get down to see u Noel
limited time made dicisions for me!
straight up the road to Mctavish hired a 9'6' sup
conditions on the Bay ,
sunday clean 2ft -3ft on sets. wobbled and plonked a bit, but stoked at the performance of board, left me wanting to improve! If it was onshore I think maybe it would have been a bit tougher to stay upright.
Hooked into plenty at Watego's lots of looks but they had smiles attached,
even got a comment !awesome mate! from a young female mal rider.
Had a late surf Clark's, but didnt get too many, the pic dont show my talent in the best light!,way up front, bury'in the nose, but hell its fun!
Backed up for a surf a Watego's monday am. same aloha vibe on the water but 1-2ft waves. lov'in it
