Blew my knee few weeks back and I'm booked in a for a key hole scrap on the 5th , going nuts not getting out on the water so I picked up an old mal off a mate to paddle around on to keep the fitness up which he ended up giving me.I scrapped the wax off on the logo and it turned out to be a 1967 Ray Wooley 8-11 399 Competitor (made in Brisbane). Check out the fin it's almost 500m long Looked it up on the net and one sold for $1,300 in 2005
I also just recieved my new Future Fins "The Elevens"which I have had on order for over a month , check out these beast .Pretty ironic I'm now paddling around on a board almost as old as me with the latest set of super fins in my 8-11 stand up which I can't use.
Nice old blue board.. That's almost a kanga-cok fin like Park Paul used to make.
I like your new fins.. Do they come as a set of four like shown or just in pairs?

That old blue board looks nuts. I think you did really well out of that deal. Good luck with your knee and give us a report how the old thing goes when you are well enough to ride it.
What's the deal with those ben lexon winged fins you have on your psh?
Yeah the new Futures are nuts can't wait to try them and yes they are a quad set the rears are really raked , very extreme fin set up. I'm so stoked with the old mal everything about it , the rails , V bottom , outline and the fin is just so classic.
I rang my mate to tell him what is worth and he is happy for me to keep as long as I never sell it , which I never will. I'll be riding this in the next Mal Function in the 60's classic section. I'm going to it get fully restored and get the paint job off the board hopefully it's all in good shape underneath.
The knee is nothing serious just paying the price from a life of sport , it's just sh!ts me tears sitting on my arse and not being able to surf.
Sorry to hear about your knee Piros, getting old sucks,I have a similar story with old footy injuries coming back to haunt me,knee and back
Nice mal btw, what length is it 9 footand who's doing the restoration for you
Also noted is that fantastic wall art in the background with a real Polynesian look about it
Sorry Piros,I have no idea who could do the recon for you,I did see some amazing work done on some of the boards at the single fin comp this year, most kept the deck original and re worked the bottom and rails also fitted new fins which showed the layers on the trailing edge.Colours the key,I'd look up some old photos and keep the colour original as possible.
Wow, those fins look well awesome but looking at them it looks like they would catch?!? What is the idea behind them?
Thats a great mal, worth restoring
