at 2.22pm we had a wind change just i finished work for the day

right there with best dw runs. shieldsy on his bullet said he barely paddled. he had 300 mts or so up on me to the alley when we stopped. but the wind dropped a bit and i just sneaked in ahead to talley on the gl 12'6. pretty pleased with that on a 12'6. i'll try the skinny newbie next time

we saw iron phil when we were stopped. he was on the f18.

i think we spotted ali cat's car at talley.

anyone else on to it!!!!

I went the other way a few hours earlier. Mermaid to Currumbin. I prefer the N-S runs on the GC, especially this time of year when the whales are going the same way. Putting a small movie together and will post it later. The home run into Currumbin was pretty special and it looks like my timing was pretty good today, as I hooked that N swing to NE just in time around 12.

hey you must do the alley to snapper on a nw wind if you haven't. one of the fastest goldie runs around. it's always faster then snapper to alley time wise for me .i'm told the ocean currents generally head to snapper.

a couple of well known prone paddlers put me on to that one

Yep had a ball out there. I just pulled up in the car park two streets south of Bilinga SLSC when I saw you guys out the back paddling. There was some nice little bumps out there got some long glides got up to 17.2 km/h on the GPS and was cruising around 14 km/h
That was my first paddle since Maliko in July.
Hopefully it's looking good for tomorrow as well.

You guys get all the fun.

Southerly just hit Coolum at 7.40 pm. Not going out there in the dark.

Sounds like a fun afternoon.

Yep I was there... taking the dog for a run at the beach.

Got a great DW in up the other end of the coast later in the arvo with Drew and a few of the Budds Beach training group. Wind was insane!!!
Awesome fun out there... and some character building heading back south inside the broadwater :)
