Hi,
My board has cracks on both sides of the board and I don't recall the board taking any major dings recently. I am trying to understand if the board is salvageable. Pictures below are from right and left side of the board. I bought the board used about a year or so ago and don't want to put too much money into it.
Does any body have a rough idea what it may take to fix the board and can anyone recommend a shop in Sydney that could fix?
Thanks
Bummer.. IMO its fixable for sure.
But the repair will add some weight and won't be cheap.
Call a shop like Balmoral Boards Surf shop and see who they use for ding repairs.

Hi Cletus,
That's more than just a ding, thats a creased board, probably across the deck under the deckpad. It's definitely repairable and should cost you around $200 depending on the repairer and how precious he is with your deckpad removal.
A good repairer should be able to make it look almost as good as new. We had a creased Allwave repaired as good as new. Apart from the logo on the bottom, you'd never have noticed.
Good luck.

Second hand boards are pretty cheap in aus.......if you using it in the surf heaps I would differ from the optimists & say farewell to it (maybe sell it to another optimist real cheap)
It will never be as good as new as far as its stuctural integrity goes.
But if you are just using it for splashing around on maybe a fix is okay
Thanks All! I will check with Balmoral Boards.
I mostly just tool around in the harbor to gets some exercise so hopefully a repair will work in this case.
Cheers
I had a 10' Mana creased in the same area.
$250 to repair, the repairer lifted the deck grip and glued it back down.
Looked pretty good after repair surfed it and got smashed on it never had a problem with the repair.
Hey Cletus, that is a bummer, but it can be fixed!
At Balmoral Paddle Surf we have been using a local repairer, Tom for 5 years now. Very good work, vey well priced. Especialy on big jobs like this.
Bring it down for an assessment. We are open 6 days 10-5. Closed Tuesday.
Cheers AA
When I repair any of my boards with crease damage I ALWAYS check the rocker line with the original rocker template.
99% of the time the rocker is bent and has to be reset before the repair can be glassed.
Boards always get bent when they have been creased in the surf.

Definitely creased, get it fixed. I snapped a board clean in half early this year after a big wipeout without inspecting the board after. I reckon if I had checked it, I would've noticed cracks like yours is. I went for a small (<1ft) wave the week after the wipeout, stepped forward & snap...swim).
I called a repairer (Stonker in Torquay, Vic) & Alex said it would be about $300 to repair with carbon/vac and although it would add a bit of weight, it won't snap there again...also gave me the option of a trade for a custom as he could on-sell it as a 'cheap' repaired board to a lighter beginner looking for a bargain no probs. I took the offer & glad I did (from w/surf board repair experience, it takes a while to get confident again on a board that you know has been damaged).
For a bit of additional coin, I got a new/tougher custom that I have full trust in that's been made to suit my (ahem) 'power & girth' & someone (presumably lighter) gets a quality but cheap/well-repaired board to begin their SUP experience.
See if you can get the option of trade otherwise unless you know about board construction & can put full trust in the repairer, you'll always be looking for those cracks & won't be able to push yourself.
...my 2 cents.
