Heard a few NSW guys are heading up aswell, so could be a good battle for the top guys and girls.
Yeah very true Jacko.
It's awesome to hear that news with the Southerners making the journey north to the Warm Coast for the event. Fiona Guy was telling me it was 4 degrees at training the other morning in Sydney!
in front of the rock wall and just inside looks pretty shallow atm. there's normally a bank off the wall then it gets deep.
coming in more the burleigh side isn't a flash idea with a south swell.
aren't they dredging sand to burleigh .
might do some paddling and surfing there on the weekend and check it out
cheers

Is it too late to start training for the big race....
Day 1 (today): moved all the crap out of the way in the garage so that I can actually get my board out of the garage....
Day 2 (tomorrow): will wash all dust off board in preparation for a training run to ensure best speed through the water
Day 3: Rest day........oh crap just realised this is gonna hurt......
Mikeman,
What sort of contraption were you in to take these wicked shots of Tally Creek mouth?
Because I need you in this to film the race!!!!!

Hey Marcus,
I will be anchoring a buoy outside the bar enterance for all to turn before heading through as a safety precaution. This will also mean that most will take the same path.
There will also be a turning buoy outside the Ally on the northern side off Lacey's.
The long range forecast looks good for semi flat conditions.
but your right, for those who are keen to get some local knowledge of the Tally area, I do suggest to paddle the Tally Creek enterance to feel its currents and sand bars!

Looks like a few of us will be heading up. It's always great when so many of the Queenslanders come down for our events so we thought it time we come up for yours. MS is such a good cause as well. Looking forward to catching up with the crew.
Really looking forward to this. Should be great fun!! Will be awesome to be able to put faces to names from here too!!
Here is a good one that shows where all the sand is.
Peasy, I can either video/shoot for SUPSA or help out with safety (looking after the back markers). Give me a shout...
i was having a closer look at the classes. men, woman, 12'6 and 14', 40 to 49. 50 to 54, 55 plus.
there has been a lot said in the past year about having classes for the older paddlers. peasey and the supsa crew have done a great thing by adding these classes.
Yeah thanks Peasey and SUPSA. While there's been a bit said on the forum about old guys who race, it is great when organisers spread the age groups and encourage us to have a go. The Sydney guys have already directed me to the local retirement village and have already checked out the wheel chair access for me on the day.
it's come to my attention that peasey has missed a class- 4m or 13'1.
so open men 4m or 13'1, open women 4m or 13'1 , men under 29 4m or 13'1, women under 29 4m or 13'1,men 30 to 39 4m or 13'1, women 30 to39 4m or 3'1, men 40 to 49 4m or 13'1, women 40 to49 4m or 13'1, men 50 to 54 4m or 13'1, blah blah blah and so and so.

Nooooooooooooooooooooooo
Any suggestions for good places to stay round there?
Try Currumbin Sands which backs onto the Currumbin creek and is right on the beach in front of Lacey's lane (the end section of the Alley) or the Rocks Resort on Currumbin beach about 100m from the Alley and creek.

Plenty of guys to give you a lift onto the sand with your chair Johnny!

Ya KILLING ME LACEY!!!!!!!
IMPORTANT
The Creek to Creek SUP Race will still go ahead if unfavourable conditions are upon us. We will post an alternate course within Tallebudgera Creek.
So far, the long range forecast looks very kind!
are there on the day entries? I am trying to sort out a shift swap so I can do the event but we have lots happening so am not too sure if I
can get it done yet.
But would like to go in an event with lots of like-minded people rather than just a couple.
Cheers
Brent

Hi Kieranr, try Tally van park backs right on tally creek opposite the race finish and across the road from beach. Pretty sure they do cabins there.
