Those mantas are so different from most other boards , just looked at iron phil,s post and completely different to those sic boards too.Cant argue with results though kelly , sondra and mick have been doing really well on them. But they would all go well on an iron board too It will interseting to see how they go at Molakai.

I like the stealthy look of them

This board looks kinda like the Manta , expecially the nose. Hardly a bow wave.

Yes, the nose looks similar (also probably inspired from the Americas Cup hull shapes) but the tail certainly is not like the Manta. The wake behind this one shows a big flaw in the hull design. DVS is way too good to make that mistake.

Would like to get a look at the bottom of this board. Seems to have a heap of roll compared to the video of the manta that sits flat in the water. There's a lot of wash out the back too.

So a DW topic turns into a flat water topic

Anyway back on track i did a really fun DW paddle yesterday on the 14ft Fanatic and the board handled perfectly and it was pretty rough out there but the board felt super stable, i did fall of once but sometimes siht happens!!! Great thing with this board is it feels right at home in the flat water as well, Maybe not as fast as a true flat water board but still a real pleasure to paddle as it glides really nice.

We took a whole bunch of Pics out there yesterday and from the looks of the pics the board looks right at home in the real rough stuff as well, sorry can't post pics as they are not mine!!

Cheers Jacko

Hey Jacko i find the Fanatic 12'6 great in the flats , and picks up runners easily when the swell direction is right behind , but i think it bogs down when it gets a bit messier side chop ect.But that probably happens with most boards.

You can rail steer it pretty easy and it should be fine in a bit of side chop, It's not really a Dw board but it does do the job and i had a really good DW run on it the other day and because its so nimble on the runners you can cut across the side chops pretty easy.

I have a vid of the 14 in action i'm putting together which shows how this board handles the rougher stuff!!

Vid coming soon...

OK here is the short vid from yesterday, by the way yes there is a plug for Fanatic in there so if you do not want to see that part close your eyes for the first 10 or so seconds!! This is only a quick clip of the run, hopefully when i get more time a can make a longer one with Trav in there as well!!
