Hi Everyone,

To those of you that are interested, we are planning to do a fun distance paddle from Palm Beach to Brown water (little bay in between Collaroy and Long Reef) on Saturday Morning, Paddle starting at 7am at South Palm Beach Near the pool (so get there before to set up). Total distance is about 17km (estimated), And I am estimating it will take about 2 - 2.5 hours. By the way it is not a race, it's all about fun, and we will be sticking together, stopping in to catch the odd wave along the way.

So please spread the word to anyone you know who would be interested.

We will meet back at Windsurf N Snow for a debrief and glass of water after the paddle.

Please let me know if you are interested by posting on this thread, and we may be able to help with getting the boards to Palmy if you want to leave your car at Wind Surf 'N' Snow.

Regards,

JB

We'll put on the BBQ and fry up some bacon and eggs at the shop afterwards.

Here's a rough idea of the course we might take.

It is probably too long for me. I still have issues staying upright in the chop, not to mind considering catching a wave (no matter how big).

JayBee (not to be confused with JB - he is a poor imitation - or so I hear anyway)

There shouldn't be too much chop, it's early in the morning. and it will be a tail wind and swell. pretty easy! if you are a bit worried about the length of the paddle, start at mona vale or narrabeen and join us.

A poor imitation? not sure what you mean by this??

Getting a lot of interest.

I already have about 15 people confirmed, so should be a blast!

Come along, if you can paddle but don't have a board, we may be able to organize a loaner board for you.

How about having baked beans at the start..It might give you more 'gas' (as Laird would say) for the long paddle..

Well it is getting closer to the big paddle, and the weather is looking really good. The Northerly swell should pick up a little (still very small) and the northerly wind will be perfect, and at our tails all the way! We should make good time.

We have about 15-20 paddlers, so please if you are interested, or know someone who may be interested, let us know. You can post on here, or call Wind Surf 'n' Snow on (02) 9971 0999.

Hope to see you there!

What an awesome paddle. There was 11 of us that took part in the 17km paddle from Palm Beach to Brown water. All up the fast crew took about 2.5 hrs (not me), and the mid crew took just under 3 hrs, and the rest just over 3 hrs. The day was perfect, light northly winds and small swell, it was a fun relaxing paddle. Thanks to everyone that same along, I look forward to doing it again soon, maybe the reverse in a big southly would be fun.

I have some pics to post later,
