No matter what he was riding it was a blatant drop in he should have been inside her if he was serious

If you go back and look at the early footage of Greg Knoll and Mickey Munoz etc there was always more than one person on those waves.

In most of the footage I have seen of Mavericks same deal no one seems to call anyone else off either.

Both riders look in control.

Just because its an SUP doesnt make it a crime, if it was a another guy on a 12ft gun there probablly wouldnt even be a peep.

i have seriously had a gut full of these stupid sup surfers are bad arses type posts

Seriously the kook stage is over and sup's are like any other craft in the water.
I agree Lacey ,seems its always a sup'er giving negative feed back and its not coming from SB and LBers so best to say nothing imo

PS some of you need to watch some old movies and see Jaws Pipe and alike and its full of party waves it just happens.

A drop in is a drop in regardless of craft, but this does depend on the type of wave.

I see this type of drop in all the time once it gets big everyone wants the smaller one to get TF out of the line up because there's bigger ones on the way, makes common sense to me, safety in numbers.

Now that's a surf clip. Tool Vicarious, 'I want to see things die, from a good safe distance' - sums up what my Waimea experience would be.

the problem is, do you want to make all breaks party waves?

sounds cr@p to me, if you want to normalise dropping in then then the end is nigh imo.

think you have a fast car? someone will always have a faster one. your sups will be slow for whatever (wavejet) reason in the next few years... enjoy

putting my 2 cents in

dave if you make the original comment on this then u obviously dont come from a surfing background, learn about the spots and whats edicate for each one. as most big wave spots as byronmaui said its excepted to multiple surfers on each wave. as for your local to different.

it always people coming from a non surfing background making these stupid comments on sup. Think and learn before u speak. if supping ur first go at surfing then u probably are the issue not the bloke in the movie

The thing a lot of people on here would have no idea about if you turn and commit to paddle into one of these waves is that you can't just pull back or flick off like you can on the little beachies that you surf every weekend, these swells move at a much greater speed with so much more energy.Once your in your in.

ok and with that argument in mind. Why would a person commit with 3 others inside them paddling for the wave......
