The GF and I are thinking of heading down for the big event this year.....can someone please advise where the best place to camp is - we have a campervan which makes us pretty self sufficient but its always nice if there is a hot shower around - so a camping ground is fine by us. We would like to be close to the beach for ease of access. Any help would be most appreciated so we can book a spot early.

Also I came across this the other day and noted that the big fella from the yellow board company maybe coming - any truth to the rumours?

Thursday 25th - Sunday 28th November 2010

30th MAMBO MERIMBULA CLASSIC

The world's longest running, wave sailing competition

The Mambo Merimbula Classic, incorporating the Naish Sup Sessions, will be held from Thursday 25th to Sunday 28th November 2010.

It's the 30th annual event and the Merimbula Sailboard Club are expecting to see Wave sailors, Kite surfers and Sup surfers from around the world.

The club welcomes participants of all ages, and with all levels of experience, to join in the four days of action and fun, both on and off the water.

99% confirmed that some overseas visitors from past will be coming back. Robby Naish of Naish windsurfing kiting and now SUP fame coming over from Hawaii with Randy Naish.

I was thinking about Mambo today as well. Anyone know what the timetable for events is yet. I have a mates wedding on the weekend but I am keen to get down during the week if anything is on.

Guys, the actual competition runs everyday with SUP each morning. It is pretty 'freestyle' around that with missions each day to local breaks.

The Beach to Bar SUP off will be on the weekend and I am sure there will be plenty of DW's organised this year.

Its going to be HUGE! Definitely worth crossing the ditch!

See you guys there again this year.. It's gunna be huge.

I think Robby and Randy Naish were there last year.. Didn't anyone else see them..

Don't stand too close to Casso if you've got your arse hanging out of your shorts.

Let's hope we get a big Q'landers turn up again.. Don't let Marty take the 17..

Is Ben Dover (Jake) still paddling?

Every morning started like this.

And every wave was a party wave.. .. Let's hope it's a bit bigger this year..

Mambo is a smoking event,

Its the spirit of cooperation and good will that brings the vibe to it.

The BBQ food makes master chef creations look like romper room for cooks but you do need a Jenny Craig voucher and beef up the springs before you head home.

DJ I hope you have a couple of DW cooked up for this year!

Looks like there is a SUP fishing comp on too (more details to come).

As usual it will be demo board heaven

Couldnt recommend it enough!

I heard a rumor that it is no longer the "Mambo" event, just the "Merimbula Wave Classic".

Angie, you holding out on us???

Horses mouth here with some up to date goss on this years Merimbula Classic
SUP will be huge with plenty of prizes and cash for up and comers.
SO far three new SUPS will be given as prizes One from Naish one from Walk on Water and an Angulo SUP from Salt Pond on central coast.
Corona are giving us a heap of beer and $10k to spend on limes.

Robbie Naish has to go to Thanksgiving but Randy, not having any religion,is coming over.
The Balmoral Boards beach to bar and back to beach again relay is on again Maybe we should re-name it the Bal Immoral B2Band B2B.

There's a 30th birthday party on Saturday night with prizes for oldest comp T shirt and a fashion parade..the 30th party will also be on Friday and Thursday and Sunday nights as well.and if in Merimbula early its on Monday Tuesday and Wednesday.
This year Seabreeze is sponsoring the weather so the waves will be six feet and tubing.Glassy mornings till ten then nor'easters to 25knots then SUPs can have Bar and wave sailors can carve the Bar to beach section whilst the kites can go ape down the beach.
Happy hour is from 3 to 6pm.
If you haven't met him yet SUPpers Uncle Craig is coming so be on best behaviour

Thanks John..

It'll be great to have Thomo back after a couple of no shows.. I wonder if he's learned to SUP?

It'll also be great to catch up with Scott O'Connor and Randy Naish and I'm sure there'll be a few other international guests turn up.

Interesting to see Angulo offering a SUP board as a prize.. Wouldn't it be great to see Mark or Josh Angulo back at the Mambo.

Just wondering about the Bal Immoral B2B SUP race.. If the Vic's win the first and the second race will there be a third race in hope that the Vic's don't win?..

See ya there.

I wonder if he will even get in the water, I think I only ever saw that happen once. Too busy getting pulled over by police on mopeds, go karting etc etc.

Josh pulled the biggest jump I have ever seen on a windsurfer there many years ago in about 40 knots.

We are doing our very best to try and get the any of the Angulo boy's to come, Josh, Mark or Ed! They've just come back from Bali where they were testing the 2011 range of SUP's. Were hoping to have them with us at our Angulo Display. Hopefully we'll have an answer soon (fingers crossed).

That would be awesome.

I knew Mark quite well from past Mambo's and it would be great to catch up with him again.

I'd also love to meet their Dad because Ed makes great boards and I'm looking froward to checking out the new Angulo boards.

Not long to go now, think there is a sizable Vicco crew coming up this year!

Just wondering how we will stack all these + 2 x 14'0 boards on the roof and still be able to speed thorough the drive throughs on the way?

Details, details
