Welldone to the flyers up the front!
Travis won on a DC 12'6", from Sam on a Naish 17', and Mike on a starboard but not sure which one.

Thats the first time I've ever done anything like that and found it pretty tough but glad I did it. The race was reversed and run from port beach to rotto due to wind conditions and expected heavy shipping traffic in the arvo.

well done travis. i had a small dw run with travis to sort out which board he liked. he is just insane. when we all did a dw/er the other week, an oc1 was giving him 200m and would only put 200m on him over a few k's or so, then they would stop and wait for the rest of us

Greeny did well, I think he was on a K15. What he doesn't know is that he won the door prize at the presentations but wasn't there to collect so they gave it to Jenkz who scored a $1400 surf ski.

Yeah was good fun. I used the Starboard K15. I had never paddled it before so I had no idea what to expect. It paddled really well for the first half with the offshore wind behind us. Catching little runners and just trying to enjoy it. Until I fell off and lost my board! I couldnt figure out where to attach the leggie before the race so I left it on the beach. I was rooted! Swimming after a runaway K15 with a life jacket, paddle and scarecrow hat is hard work! That scared the crap out of me so I took it steady from then on. And the last part of the race was full on! Big swell rolling towards us with wind swell from behind and light winds made it tough. I reckon I fell in about 20 times! So stoked to see the beach though. I came 10th at 2 hours and 36 minutes.
Thanks to everyone for a fun day. And thanks to Ian for one of the most relaxed afternoons Ive had in a very long time. Relaxing in the bay hanging on the boat, swimming, paddling and just enjoying the magic afternoon at Rotto with a whole heap of cool people

Not the Doctor everyone was expecting. The race was paddled from mainland to Rottnest due to the E wind and small windchop.
Good fun paddle. The first half was good, lots of runners but when we hit the half way things changed and the swell was all confused and the wind died down.
Mike who came third was on a F16.
Greenroom was drawn out of the hat at the preso for a FINN kayak but a redraw was called cause he was not there. What a bummer, although another SUPr was drawn out next and walked away with it.
Well done to Theresa, the only female in the field.

If Travis beat a bloke on a Naish 17' by 5 minutes and a bloke on a F16 by 7 minutes paddling a 12'6 just consider for a second how much he would have won by if he was on a bigger board.

Well what a great day!!!!!! I am feeling it today...had to go for a prone surf to try and loosen up those paddling muscles!

The paddle was great despite the switch in direction. I even think it was better than last years paddle as we didn't have to paddle across the wind the whole way. I couldn't believe how fast the leaders were again this year!!!

Finishing at Rotto also has it's advantages. Drinks and lunch at the pub is never a bad way to finish a hard paddle Anyway thanks to all- especially Ian who looked after us and let us hang out on his boat. Magic afternoon.

Well done to the comp organisers. Hope to see more in it next year eh.

BTW- Greenie, Micheal was pulled out of the hat after you for the kayak. Ha ha. That will teach ya both!

What a great event - organisers did a great job and made the right call with the direction change.
still really sore from the paddle.....the last 1/3 of the race was really washy and hard work just staying on your feet.
Stoked to make it!!
Some great runners in the early stages which had me hooting.
Can't believe the pace of the leaders, they just took off and to win on a 12'6"
Cool to meet some fellow breezers too
tried to catch greenie at the end but didnt quite get there
