14ft glide came in the mail the 0ther day, managed to have aflat water paddle midweek, having never paddled any thing bigger than a 11'2 starboard i was pretty happy when the blade went in the water and off i glided .having not paddled for 13weeks due to broken leg i was very suprised by the stability and managed to paddlefor half an hour with out falling, then it happend.............. woke up this morning 14 weeks to the day since the last one ,could feel it building, the palm trees were thrashing the frroth was forming and it wasnt the coffee 7am the call was made to telstra john want to do a downwinder, job was on wind was up.
on the water at 830 till 9 went from backbeach to point more estmate 3ks... couldnt belive the speed and stability of the glide, conditions were pretty challengeing offshore windgusting to 30kns into 1mt swell, every now and again you would be on the back of aswell and a decent runner would pick u up for 20 or so metres, one word frothingyou were right DJ the naish glide is goodany gero crew keen for downwinders give us a PM im keen
Enjoy Radman, I love my 14ft Glide. They rock in some swell and wind.
Happy times, now if you can send some of that over here please, please!

worrier you still got that 12 footer, keen on a dw ,might have to get yourself a 14ft glide, might be a little longer till i venture back to the waves
Nice one Radman, know what it feels like to get back into the water again after a long injury lay off.
Might have to venture up to Gero to join you for a DW'er one of these days
I've gotta get a proper down wind board. With all these wa boys now getting them, I'm not going to be able to keep up.
that must have been one sweet ride hilly, i remember when i had 6months out very very painful and grumpy days they were
Ill be keen when I get a chance from work Just back from PNG now at Muchea then off to Sth Aus. Mighr have to get a glide ta kep up with yas though. John's DC looks the goods as well.

had another enjoyable arvo paddling the glide, took the young fella down to st georges he paddled the jimmy lewis 9'4, managed to stroke into a few glassy swells that wernt quite breaking , effort less lee the glide caught the swells even into the 10kn head wind, stability once again was great. trie d out my new 7' naishpaddle, it looks tiny and first impressions leave you thinking that this will never propel you.suprise this paddle is as fast as the starboard one i usually use but at 269 dollars retail represents value for money ,loved the reduced carbon shaft and carbon inlayin the blade, weight all good,as for grumpy ness and injurys yes...... i am lcky to be married still... i think thats lucky .eb i kite soon but wont be destroying lips for a whlie leave that up to you ,if you see a long pointy thing drifting past sunset its prob me thats the next mission
Nice one Radman, it sure is a great feeling to be back on the water again isn't it. Gero would be a cool place to SUP plenty of good surf spots, Are there any options for down winders in a seabreeze like the port to sunsets or drumonds, does that work in a SW or S seabreeze. I had a couple of years in gero in the early 90's I wasn't into wind powered sports back then but surfed and dived a fair bit, actually got sick of eating crayfish
I am also a member of the back on the water club, have been back on the sup paddling the last three weeks, and kiting again now. Bloody stoked to pull up with sore muscles from doing something rater than been sore from sitting at a desk...
cheers
year shunter, gero z sic plenty of downwind potetial here, the point to any where north will be on shortly, seabreezs have been nuking 25-35kns every day for the last month. when its glassy there are many wave options.
