Sean has always been a great supporter Sups we need to get behind him on this one. 21 st to 25th of March the weekend after Noosa.

Piros

Only two weeks to go to the start of the Australian Longboard Surfing Open the richest longboard surfing event in Australia since the world titles were held at One Mile back in 1999.

As well as the ASP Pro division there is the Noserider where the judges don't start to score you until you are on the nose, old mal, retro, a whole range of amateur divisions with a range of great boards from Surftech as giveaways and SUPS.

On the land there are movies (Koala Kronicles, BeLong, SEWN) bands, art clinics for kids, SUP clinics, cooking demo, book signing, bikini parade, surf vehicle show & shine and lifestyle markets. In fact there is something for everyone that lives their live as a surfer.

There are still spots remaining in the event and plenty of affordable accommodation at Kingscliff. If you haven't already done so get your entry in now.

Awesome that the womens surfing is just on the weekend!!!

Is there a way to enter and pay online (I noticed there's a PayPal box to check but no instructions?) or do we need to print and fax the entry form in?

For the SUP Race it would be interesting to know exactly what they have in mind, because honestly last year was pretty bad and it's been the only time where I had the feeling of having been ripped off ($70)
I was not the only one to feel that way and any training session was at least as good as what they did....
So some details for this year would be welcome

I went for the first time last year and entered the SUP Amateur Surfing. Made it to the Final and had to bail as my first grandchild was due to be born. Raced back to the Central Coast and she waited another day.

Hope I make the Final again this year for some karma payback.

Agree with Piros...a great event and very well run by Sean.

Yes last year was not the best but that is in the past and hopefully this year will be a super fun race again. Here is a idea for a race down there that could work quite well?

No run legs but you will have to drag your board around a can on the beach so you wont need a handler!!

Just some thoughts anyway?

Im told Sean has taken your advice for a 5k River course then out into the ocean for a 2km BOP race finish .. Both Male and Female ...

As well as a (5km) river race for the rest . also thinking of including a 2km short course race for anything under 12 foot ... He is looking for support for this idea !

... Im also told Sean was also looking for someone who has a SUPERGO to set it up for a Venue Challenge ...

the problem with the last two years is that creek is too shallow with rocks everywhere.

last year was also run on the low tide.

if it's racing up and back in the creek, they need to hold that race on the high tide imo.

its a good event. i would just like to see a bit more thought put into the races

cheers

High Tide 10am just work around the 1.2 tide so you can get under the bridge .... Perfect ! (ish) ..... and a greater concern for the race this year ..
