It's not going to be that good but it's on!

We will meet at the Currumbin boat ramp (southern bank) at 1pm and car pool from there. Depending on who turns up we may aplit it up into 2 groups (Snapper to Currumbin and Snapper to Talle, or somewhere further).

If you are interested please contact me. Let me know what size board you have, or if you don't have a board (we might be able to scratch up a few spares). Please bring a leg rope (a must have on all DW paddles), your own paddle as well as your own fluids etc.

I will send an sms to all of those that had previously indicated to me that they want to get into DW paddling.

Mike

Mike, would love to join you but the missus is working and I have our daughter. I am lucky to get away with training for a couple of hours early morning.

Maybe next time, weekdays are always better for me, if only the wind would cooperate.

It looks like we may have around a dozen paddlers tomorrow! Both experienced and inexperienced, which is great. We will bring down whatever spare boards we can get hold of for those that don't have the right DW gear.

The swell will still be relatively small so it looks like it will be short wave length runs. So those on shorter boards should also get some runs and have some fun.

We look after the inexperienced paddlers so don't worry - no one will get left behind. It's not a race!

Even if you don't want to paddle come down and meet the crew for next time.

Yes, the angle looks nice and it it a little stronger than previously predicted. should be great!

The southerly kicked in at around 7am so by 1pm conditions should be good.

Yes it was like wtf
I'd just finished on my sup and grabbed the mal ( new one at that ) and saw you guy's.
Earlier, it was raining cats and dogs you would have lost you way.

we were loading up at winders in that rain. when we got to snapper and saw a sailboarder just standing there at rainbow, you know it's not good. however having 10 or so guys out on array of dw downwind boards was great fun. just about everyone was swapping boards and having a laugh as we caught waves down the points.good experience for some of the guys- catch a few waves, get used to the big boards and few runners to finish. look forward to the next group d/w er
cheers

It was great to see such a good turnout. We had 11 boards in the water and most of them were 16/17' boards. There were a few that couldn't make it and we did not have enough gear to go around - or there would have been around 15. Nice to see so many DW enthusiasts.

Unfortunately the wind did not cooperate at all, due to the rain squall just before we left. It picked up again afterwards but that's the way it goes when you have to depend on mother nature.

It was still great fun so if anyone wants to join in next time send me your details and I will add you to the contacts list.

This Sat is looking unreal. Tweed Coast could be the go for me this time. When Andrew & I got back on Sat arvo, the conditions for d/w down there were pumping - that coast gets so much wind and swell. Felt like relaunching at caba & going for round 2 - this stuff is worse than meth, is way too addictive.

Mike, just want to say thanks heaps for organising on Sat, it was very much appreciated by all I'm sure. I would have paid money to hear those paddling tips from Travis too, should have taken notes.. Cheers, Jeremy
