I hate to be the one to bring up such a contentious topic again... I was just watching "Mark Richards on C4 Waterman SUP's - Part 2" on you tube.
With all the recent discussion about the importance (or not) of your shapers' surfing ability, I found it interesting to hear what MR had to say on the topic.
And Jimmy Lewis, one of the worlds better SUP shapers:
"I dont paddle board much, is that bad to say"
Surfed the 9'3 Sub Vector for the first time at the weekend and OMG this has taken my SUP to new levels already. I can't speak highly enough of this board, the concave deck is fantastic gives amazing stability but because the board is only 9'3 x 28 3/4 is remains super fast!
I think it was really a case of better surfboard shapers make better SUP surfboard shapers that I was trying to make-others misconstrued the message.
