First serious paddle after MCL ripped off bone, ruptured PCL and fractures top and bottom in my knee from kiteboarding

Big thanks to Courts from supsurfaustralia who guided me through rehab. I was lucky to avoid surgery as ACL, meniscus and cartilage are intact :-) Your experience was a god send

Thanks to Jason westoz kiteboarding for the brace (pissed I missed Exmouth that looked all time :-( )

Thanks to Belly good to have someone as keen as you around :-) and Zimbo and Stef good day

I used Belly's JL Albatross 12 6 x 30 very stable and lots of fun great board He used my Naish 14 not good on narrow boards still

Been 9 weeks to the day so 7 weeks ahead of schedule. Last 3 weeks have been 2 hours a day in the gym working it ( fark I hate gyms)

Not all time but fun

Belly showed off his street skills

Next weekend maybe some small waves

Good to see your back into it Hilly. Don't go pushing it to hard too early though mate. You don't want to miss the Rotto race.
Copped that 30knt gust on the graph sailing across the end of Pt Walter, ripped the jib in half, blew out the boom vang and tore the tiller extension off the rudder trying to get some semblance of control. You guys were too early, it would of really spiced up your comeback.
Pm us for the next run, the 17' hasn't seen a decent breeze yet.

Glad to see you back into it Hilly - that's a long time to be out.

No leggy, Belly? Seems a bit silly for a big paddle with plenty of wind.

Good one Hilly, injuries suck, especially when your mates keep telling you about all the epic sessions.

That kiteboarding sounds dangerous!

Bloody sore today so very unfit

We did not use leggies as there was 4 of us and you can stand in most parts of the river with minimal chop Zimbo had one so he could rescue us and drag us the 50m to shore

Good one Hilly, when we are feeling well and fit we tend to take our health for granted. Don't push it too hard for a while.

You used a lot of acronyms (MCL, PCL ACL)... For the uninjured dummies what do they all mean?

Well done on the rehab - hope it continues and you get out amongst the waves soon. A friend of ours sent these shots over the other day of a few waves that were floating around down south late last week. Should help ya with those gym sessions!!
