Anyone have any tips on storing/hanging 14ft + boards, especially hollow boards?

I currently hang a 14ft board from roof beams in the garage with a set of straps and thick rope near the front middle and tail. The board lies deck down on the straps.

Not sure if that will cause any problems????

So far it's any easy way to get the boards onto the car and good use of space.

Sounds like you have it covered. Compared to a fully grown man jumping up and down on it supported by 3 straps and weighting 14kg max there is not much of an issue. Wish I had enough room above my car.

I use 3 straps / board screwed and re-inforced to the beams across the garage ceiling and they work a treat.

This shot is my 14 and 12'6 on the roof and my other 14' to the left with 11'6, 11' and 10' stacked above them out of harms way and still allowing the wife's car access to the single garage.

Whatever works !

BTW - that's a great setup DJ.

Great set-ups both of you - looks like I have to upgrade my simple rope loops now.

Surfanimals - that's a lot of gear you have precisely organised in there, must be a pretty small car.

Looking at your photo with the 17 close to the roof, do you take the breather plug out when storing it there during summer? I store mine in the same sort of position and was thinking earlier if I should be removing the plug due to the heat generated from the roof.
Thanks
