The surf in Fiji has been good at Cloud-Break. last wednesday Namotu lefts was pumping around 6ft+ Wilks 8ft+ I had the best session ever with the Hawaiians surfing my 6'8'' MR single fin. My 8'4'' Woody SUP goes unreal it only just floats me it's the full on workout just standing on it any wind it's all over I'm falling off (Help Me Please Mr Wizard) but I really love this SUP it surfs insane popping the fins out on the back hand reo's the SUP surfs sooo fast a very high performance board thanks Woody mate you're a master craftsman.
Just been partying every night on Namotu I'm the activities co-ordinator the guest don't want to leave the island 3 weeks ago when Dano and Tobs was here didn't we get into the s##t too funny
Been Paddling Downwind on the Deep 12'6'' Sup from Namotu to Muskett Cove it's 7 kms takes me 42 minutes I wish I had my 17'6'' Bullet here do the same run in under 35 minutes, been doing the BOP Namotu Island style race I tell ya what Breezers you don't want Namotu lefts any bigger than 3 feet or it's (Help Me Please Mr Wizard) from out the back you can catch a wave then the swell all the way back to the sand on Namotu Island styling.
I went to Sigatoka on Saturday with Big Maika the Namotu Boatman and Francis the Namotu Fijian Chef to watch Nadroga and Nadi play the Rugby Union Grand-Final had the best day hanging in the grandstand with all the Indians and Fijians it was a laugh a minute, the Indians and Fijians really get into the game like religion. Breezers you would have loved it the local Fijians are great union players they hit hard so many guys where getting carried of the field. They pick the Fijian International team form the Nadroga team. Nadroga smashed Nadi 51 to 15. Then went back to the village had dinner at BIG Maika's place met his wife Sala I got the full red carpet treatment.
I met a bloke named Howie on Namotu he own's three surf shops in Cronulla NSW his label is Triple Bull I've got him to sponsor Ulai the Fijian in the photo he's one of the Namotu boatmen is a great surfer and funny bugger and is going to compete in next's years Volcum WCT event at Cloud-break next June 2012. I'll be getting Sam Egan to shape Ulai a board a 6'6'' same as the board I ride I gave Ulai a go on it and he really liked it but with 6 ounce on the bottom and two 6 ounce on the deck as Ulai breaks boards. Ulai needs a good board under his feet as he rides hand me down boards that are to small and thin for him.
