Some sweets shots in this thread, loving the Bells ones. It's been pumping all up the east coast as well, gotta love Winter
adolf enjoying the serenity at the bluff and crank'n down the line on a couple of smaller ones coming through....
My understanding is there is a top and a bottom to waves. How come all the photo's of guys sup surfing in most of theses photos in vic are of guys trimming or trying to do a bottom turn?
Look at Lummers, Sparx, Janbruun, Ockanui and Matt 18 and the boys from down south (Robdog's crew) They all use the lip or face of the wave. Please when you're taking photo's wait until they do something, otherwise in my opinion it's like looking at downwinding on bigger pieces of chop. The guy's are good, the waves sensational the timing of the photos average. OG Phil used to have the knack but he's diisappeared off the scene. Sorry about the whinge but I found it hard to get excited by the pics even though I appreciate you have to be out of the water to be taking them and I have never contributed anything.
It's just an observation about the bulk of photos on this particular thread and meant to be constructive. Timing is everything!!
Heh Leroy, my sons photo of Adolf was just a happy snap of the bloke having a bit of fun, as I was suggesting he was cranking down the line, but as a consequence of my son's lack of action photography, I will give him a clip over the ears and withhold his pocket money... Ok
actually unless you are on the shore with a tripod & an extremely sophisticated camera it is very difficult to take pictures of people surfing.
If you have a primitive camera & you are sitting on a board that is floating & rocking all about it is wonderful if you actually achieve a vaguely pleasant pic.
If I haven't been for a surf for 2 or 3 weeks & I look at these pics...I don't really care if they are just "trimming".....its a buzz just looking at nice waves.
Keep those pics coming peoples
