Great Post! Think we all have a bit of a sadistic streak in us when it comes to seeing boards being washed in towards rocks. Strange place to be puting steps too.
I've copped a beating on the rocks at Burleigh many years ago. i reckon you could a whole new thread on that one.
Yep same place,at the cove.Did the rock jump leggie nagged a rock ending in face plant on the rocks 
That's classic.. Reminds me of Hookipa on a good day.. .. Amazing all fins survived..

Thats Gold DJ!!! I have never seen anything as bad as that in real life but have seen a few come pretty close.
We have a beach like this here with rocks etc, At high tide if you get it wrong getting out you have two choices.
Go direct to board shop for a new stick or direct to a costly repair
