Out paddling this afternoon in Talle creek when all of a sudden woosh behind me came flying out of the water a 5ft + Bull shark, clean out of the water with a full spiral before hitting the water again. Needless to say I didn't hang around on top of the water for to long after that. It's definately Bull shark time in the creeks.

No HS is what I found in my undies afterwards. Unless it was another type of shark, but it wasn't a dolphin thats for sure.

Looks like Jazz has had her last swim in there then, every time we go swimming up at the island it's always in the back of my mind but stupidly still swim there anyway - well used to at least - thanks mate.

Bit hard when work requires you to take people in the water. At the end of it all, it is their domain and we share it. Just have to be mindful that they are there and always will be.

Hey Billboard the water was pretty dirty, at least up at the island she can swim in the shallows and the water always seems clearer there.

Yeah, I was paddling in Talle creek, in the first canal, last week and felt a bump and thought (hoped) I hit a submerged log, I turned around to see a massive swirl of water and knew straight away what it was. Talle creek has always been pretty sharky and spooky, especially after heavy rain when it's murky and especially the creek mouth. The area off Burleigh headland isn't called Sharkeys for nothing.

Does anyone remember back far enough to when they shot the extremely large shark in Talley Creek from the bridge? It was kind of stuck in there or would not leave as it was sick or something.

I was still at Burleigh Primary then so we are talking many moons ago.....

Breaching sharks are very common around the South African coast. Maybe this one is on vacation down under!

Showed the guys and girls at work and now some of them are thinking twice about the whole shark thing in Talle creek. I'm glad they are around, it's important to have them in the food chain, even if they are the apex preditor in the water. But it still scares the crap out of me when I see one in the water with me.
