PSH 12'6 Hybrid quad

Testing again today and this time a Hybrid 12-6 meant to paddle if you like paddling, race if you like racing and surf if you like surfing. Austin took it out this morning and destroyed some sections surfing it. Yup, this thing surfs unreal! Not just going straight but legitimate hard carving turns, floaters, off the tops etc. It's ridiculous in the surf and it paddles sweeeet..... The future is right here... Hybrid Surf/Race boards... Slam sections or paddle fast for miles... Yeah!!!

I predict that in the future they will invent something that can harness the power of the wind, perhaps it will be called a 'sail' and then someone will figure out a way to attach it to a board and call it 'windsurfing' and there will be much happiness as it will be much more fun to use than the labor of boring and tedious paddling.

A truer thing has never been said on this forum

i predict a surfboard with a motor- oops there is already one out, but i don't see hordes rushing to get one. same thing as a pushbike - why have one when there are motor bikes. strange- most people prefer to labor for their pleasure
cheers

They need to add a mast mount to make it a perfect all round water recreational toy.

I have this thought in the back of my mind of a kite assisted downwind board. Add a small single line drogue kite that gives that little bit of extra speed and lift to a shorter board so you can ride more runners and do it in lighter conditions.

It would be pretty cool to have a board that was fast to paddle and surfed insane!

It will be interesting to see the video footage!

Kinda sounds like the good old days of wave/slalom windsurfing boards. I'm not convinced you can have a board that surfs well and is competitive in a race. might do both pretty good but not as well as a surf or race specific board.

DJ, the Woody I believe was the first proto and the carbon came later.
THis board is still evolving from what I have heard.

Totally agree Cam, it will never be as good as having two boards, but it would be pretty cool to have a fast paddler that can handle waves.
Having used the Gun a fair bit there is something exciting about a board that morphs a race/DW board into something you can surf. I guess the 12' Gun is a surf board that aint to shabby 'point to point' and this is a 'racing' board that aint too shabby in the waves. It could open up those really distant breaks!
