Stoked I got the book. KONG is a LEGEND and a nice bloke I liked Gary Elkerton surfing in the 80's

DW, you've started me now.
He's only my fav surfer of all time. Richard Cram surfed at my local in the 80's and he ran a close 2nd fav (hates a roundhouse).
As a teenager growing up surfing Performers and Mad Wax is all I watched.
I guess we are still living in the 80's - that's cool, fond memories.

Can't beat Rose Tattoo.
I noticed those Quicky's have made a comeback in surfshops now (shorter).

Yep Scotty88 great video KONG RIPPING and great sound track Rose Tattoo Scared For Life. I got a few pairs of those boardies made in Bali 1983, mate loved em I was the only bloke at Catherine Hill Bay that ever had a pair, yep individual, one day I left my last pair of chequered boardies at Frenchmans beach Swansea Heads lost forever it shattered me.

i was given the book for christmas, well worth reading and I got throught it in a couple of days.

Im reading it ATM and really love his "Get to it" style. Top read and great surfer..

The level of drugs is simply crazy Like entering a final so stoned he just lay there for the first half of the heat...

Yeah good read , king kong of the bong! He's dad sounds like a legend in the book. Ill bet he's glad he got out of the boys school , just in time!

I wish he had named the school to be honest, that bit made my skin crawl[}:)]

That was completly normal back in the early 80's.If you did'nt mull you did'nt fit.

i heard he is with his families plastering company. however that was from rabbits book a few years ago.

gee there was another goofy footed surfer who disappeared too- zappa

Dominic(the eyebrow)Wybrow?I heard he got realy religious and went bush with a commune somewhere.That was a long time ago though.
