I'v ordered a set of the Kaholo14 plans online from CLC and am tossing up wether to make the timber /epoxy fins or fit a fin box. I can see benefits to both and cant really decide. I dont think I will be riding any waves with it. Plan mostly on calm morning paddles and eventually start doing some down winders. Kitesurf every chance I can at the mo but need another toy for these awkward spells of light /east winds!!!. I havent seen any production SUP's with twins (have'nt looked very hard though). All seem to have just the one.Is Kaholo twinned just for looks or does it help with yawing/tracking??

somebody please make my decision!!!

I would defiantly fit a fin box.

I'd only pick two small fins over a slightly bigger single center fin if you want to be able to paddle really shallow water.. and even then your paddle will be scrapping on the bottom.

Having a fin box gives you so many more options of fin size and shape.

I put a box in mine as I thought it would have far less drag than the twin keels. The board goes really well and even surfs OK in small baysurf. I had to get a weed fin for the river and a 10 inch dolphin for surfing and a fatboy cause they look so cool and a ...- yep my name is bill and i'm a finaholic

enjoy the build

Thanks Guys,
Looks like its time to buy a fin box!!. Termite , I clicked thru to your gallery. Thats a great looking board you'v built. If my build comes out nearly as sweet as yours I will be chuffed!! Whats the fin box and did you buy the deck grip as it is or cut it out of a bigger piece? Cheers. Cant wait to get building!!!
