Well just before dark the swell pumped up and there were some lovely lines pumping in!
Kristi wanted to go out and put the Naish into some bigger swell.
The boys were all saying that the speed the 8.0 Naish produces rail to rail is mind blowing.
This is one of Kristi's 20+ waves
She cant wait to get it out in some serious swell later in winter.
Phill
Kristi's getting soft if she's wearing the full steamer.
Making good use of the pipes though. Nice shots.
Nice Pics Phil
Looking nice and comfortable on that sweet thing Kristi
One of the local lads at the Ally rang me this afternoon to see if he could borrow mine for a few days while I'm at work. Hes had it out already and all he kept talking about was the speed, he said it was a lot harder work but loved it.
Marty
Hey Marty,
Kristi is loving this board to death! She is learning to pump it down the line then rip it into a nice hack. She threw out a couple of sizeable buckets over the back an got a cheer.
Mac you are so right "Bend ze knees" is what everyone is saying and its something we are working on.
Life will be so much easier when she stops looking like the tin man with narrow stance on back hand turns.
Everything takes time.
But hey progress is being made and the smile says it all
Woo Hoo
Phill
Hey Woody,
The pipes has made a huge difference, easier to get onto waves and stiffer to pivot the board around producing tighter faster arcs, could not recommend the paddle enough for someone that size.
Rippin a nice arc
Seems to be alot of 'mind blowing' going on down your way OG, is there anything that doesn't 'blow your mind', every bit of gear anyone uses at Ocean Grove seems to 'blow their mind'
Hey Lacey,
Yup compression is the key and we are working on your 1 turn 2 turn wave concept works well.
Kristi is going to give the DC 8.0 another run (10kg less vol) and see how she fares!
Will be interesting to see if she can surf it in big swell.
Phill!
Maybe we are just stoked on the sport and having fun!
or we are just a bunch of kooks that have no clew but big smiles on our faces.
Doesnt really take much to keep us happy!
Phill
Pics I took of Jacko not generating speed on the 8.0
Hi Brooko,
Hope you guys are well, I hear your back rippin!
Spoke to Robdog today, shame about Adams heat today what a bummer!
His time will come.
He had the crowd in his hands.
Phill
Gee he just needed that one last wave, great surfing in very testy conditions, I noted no major sponsor on the nose WTF, he goes OFF.
Sorry Phill I was referring to Adam mate, watched it on Fuel and its being replayed as I type. Dam shame Bells is sleeping, is it going to improve
Hey Mac,
Bells was firing this afternoon and the swell was still building when we left Grove tonight and the wind had dropped away. So you would assume that they will at least get waves tomorrow.
I spoke to Robdog just before Adams heat to wish them well but the waves were barely contestable.
it was a real shame
Phill
Ripping it up....these photos are killing me....three months in cast and counting is fianlly starting to take its toll!!
Looking good missy! but it must be cold with the steamer on!
Hate to rub it in but we are still in boardies up here LOL.
XX angie
Jacko, if you don't mind me asking, your around 72kg? Kristi must be heaps lighter. Interesting how the 8.0 Naish suits both of them.
Jacko, is the 8.0 hard to stay balanced on when you're paddling in choppy surf conditions?
Hey Angie,
Its really not that cold yet, but last night was pretty windy so the Rashi and the Bikini got dumped for the 3/2.
There were plenty of people out on the glass this morning in boardies.
See you guys in May.

Hahahah Tin Man that's your new nick name Kristi hahaha
you have got to change it to your forum name.
Marty
Hey Worlsup,
If you have seen any of the Bells comp on fuel TV you will notice that the surfers study the wave intensely before they go out.
One of the things they look at is what is the minimum number of manouvers that they believe they can pack into a wave before they take off due to conditions. Then they plan to push those options to the limit.
At 13th for example lots of the waves were only 1 or 2 big manouvers and thats what scores max points at that time. some scored 8+ for just one huge manouver.
Yesterday at Winki it was more like 4 or 5 for most of the day on the right wave.
When Kristi went out at OG it was good solid swell and we figured 2 solid turns was the go and then it would shut down. So that is what she was practicing.
Kristi took quite a few wipeouts due to timing, but at the end of the session was making some nice solid runs.
Lacey, Dale, Rich, Matty, Sam W. etc have all be very gratious with their time an knowledge.
Thanks again for your invaluable help.
Phill
Hey Tux,
Wondered why we hadnt seen you around
Really sorry to hear your injured wishing you the speediest recovery!
I too am having quite a few challenges to overcome so your likely to see some more pics of the local boys and girls. I am solidly focued on being fit for Mambo thats whats keeping me sane at the moment.
When your up to it come for a relaxing paddle on the Barwon or somewhere.
Best wishes to you and your Family
Phill
Are your ribs still giving you the ****s....your doing a sweet job with the photo's....I don't think I would have the patience to watch everyone else having a good time.
