Kristi was out paddling onto the the fat pulsing regurge at grove when Matty turned up. Its the first time I have seen Matty back in the water and in the crappy little waves he was carving it up.

I love watching Matty surf as he has the whole package old school and power.

Watch for a couple of mattacopters in the white wash.

Great surfing all round Phill
Over your way a little earlier but stayed up the other end of the beach. Had the "Antman " with me who has picked up the fourth spot in the Vicco team for the Nationals. Wish we could've hooked him up with Lummers for a few pointers! Kristi to for that matter, she's rippin.
Cheers

Its was awesome to see Matty back in the water, Kristi was feeding of his bag of tricks and energy. In waves where most were struggling to paddle on they both put on a show thats for sure. They generated speed where there isnt any.

I was so pleased to see Matty rippin as he has had a tough year injury wise. Now we just need Session and Revven firing and the band will almost be back together.

Hey Craig,

I will be sitting it out for at least another 4 - 5 months maybe more. It will all happen but I am not going to push it. I'm getting just as much fun working with Kristi and others but watching this winter swell is doing my head in on some days.

See you at Mambo.

Session and Revvin are both starting back in the water now, they will be all over it in no time.

Its amazing how fast you loose paddle fitness and how long it takes to get it to return.

Great to hear your back in the water Rod rip it up.

Not my favourite music but good surfing/filming none the less!

I was in Ocean Grove Saturday morning but couldn't get in the water, bummer!
Could see the lines coming through from the hill, oh well, next time.

Hey Brendon,

Kristi's music choice she likes it.

The swell was bigger again today and cleaner.

Matt and Kristi hit it again, there were some solid lefts on offer too

I saw 2 broken boards, not from the swell just people getting it wrong.

Bigger again tomorrow.

I might post some live video if it gets good.

Sounds good Phill! No-one will ever post my Fav music, I doubt you'll ever see metal or
old school punk rock put to a SUP vid unless I edit it myself. I'm sooo jealous of you guys, it has been a couple weeks since I've been in the water.

I'm hoping to be back down OG again next Saturday but hopefully I'll have enough time
to have a paddle this time. Bali Sunday morning so it would be good to get one more day
in the 3/2 before I head off.

I'll give you a bell if I'm in town.

Cheers

Hey Phill, Any idea what the width of the 8'4" is? Do Naish have the new boards on another
site or just lazy?

Hey Brendan.. Naish will have a brand new web site up any day now with all the new boards/paddles etc will be on it.

Matt's 8'4" is only 27 1/2" wide and btw the 8'4" was just a limited edition model and it will be replaced soon with a new model.

Thanks Phill, your so right about losing your paddle fitness, feeling quite stiff today, got some time in Noosa coming up soon,so hopefully i will get some quality water time.Good luck to everybody getting back in the water after injury .It just really does your head in,my wife remarked when she got home that she knew i'd been surfing, because i just looked different,go figure.

Great vid Phil, some of the better high performance SUP surfing (along with Dogman's) that has been posted here I reckon.

Kristi has really stepped it up a notch as well, very noticable. Glad to hear you will be back in the water this year, must be killing you though.

Hey Phill Great Vid thanks for posting. Like you I am land locked as well - although not through injury - mine is work. Hope you get back out there soon. I can not wait to get back to the SUP and enjoy some East Coast winter swell (although from all reports the GF has bashed it up whilst I have been gone). In the mean time the best I can do is show you what I have had to put up with over recent times. I have done a few long hikes and braved 46 degrees days in the dessert. Its been fun but I can not wait to get back to the coast. Your vids make that even more so. I have spent my land locked evenings (when not playing black jack) mucking around with a few things - hope Dj and the new NZ DJ (BP) likes them. As this is a family show I have left a few other images out. I was also hoping to do some river SUPing in Colorado and report back on it but sadly the work thing got in the way and I was unable to sort it out. Hopefully next time.

Hope the ribs heal soon.

By the way your daughter is ripping - I especially liked how she held back for paddling for that wave because she saw someone was inside of her and already on the wave - respect. I wish this happened more often. Thats the sign of a good value system!!!! Wish more water users had the same upbringing.

By the way if you have not been to Vegus and get the chance make sure you do - the place is unreal. It rocks.

Hey Ted,

Thanks for posting the pics, I have been to the States several times but not Vegas.

Thanks for your kind words, I have tried to ensure that all the kids understand that there are always others in the water and to be aware of thier impact.

If they do accidently drop in ( and it happens to all of us) they are the first to paddle over and appologise.

Its all about keeping the balance and acting with integrity to all, people dont get upset if you try to understand where they are coming from and give them space to work with.

Have a safe trip Ted, I hope we split a peak some day.

Phill
