Hello Peeps!

My wonderful boyfriend has just bought me an 11 foot McGee board as an early xmas pressy (YAY!). I am still fighting him to let me have it now however .

I was wondering if there are any SUP clubs in my area (Mascot, NSW, 2020)? I am still fairly new to this, but i've had lessons. Looking for flat water paddling only for the time being. Maybe even a buddy to SUP with? I'm not the fastest paddler in the world, but I love it all the same.

Any help would be muchly appreciated.

I have attached a pic of me and McGee (Isn't he handsome?!?)

Cheers,
Tabitha

There is a shop in Matraville Called 'Snorkel Safari" they have just started selling SUP & I believe they have a social paddle group that go out near La perouse.

Welcome to SUP - its addictive!

You could also try Belly at Rose Bay - Oz Sup, look him up on FB. He has regular "race classes" which are not that competitive and its a good social group. early weekday mornings, and also Saturdays at 8, plenty free parking etc.

Even i venture in there occassionaly.

Heading south you have Cronulla Sutherland SUP club which formally meets end of the month for racing and surf and lastly I know of you also have Cronulla Paddle Posse thats more a social paddle in the Cronulla/Gunamatta area also end of month

Good luck with it

Ooh! Thanks for the feedback! Looks like Cronulla is the favourite :o) I will definitely check it out.

Would love to SUP in Botany Bay, just need to work on my technique a bit first :o) Is it usually calm-ish waters? Not too many sharks? ;oP

I was also thinking of heading out from Brighton Le Sands beach? It is usually flat through there (unless it is super windy)

I will also check out Matraville, because it is a lot closer to home :o)

Thank you all for your help! I hope to meet some of you around soon!

Nice spot Kneelo, used to be my regular paddle when I lived in Dolls Point. A good hit out from the sailing club to the oil jetty. You sometimes get a really good horseshoe shaped wave out a bit past there on a big swell. Really wierd, as it closes in on you from all sides. Don't get there so much now as I'm 2 minutes from Port Hacking, but am now tempted to have a little look again.
