Is actually considered a little more polite to paddle away to another break occasionally so the shortboarders & kneeboarders can catch a wave without a sup person catching it 100 feet away before it even gets to them
Thought you were getting away from the 'crowd'. ...at least 6 of you out there.[:)
Nicer pics with a little foliage to frame them.
Very true Aquarian....thought the greenery on each side of the pic compensated visually for the "crap surf"
....thanks for taking the time to take the pics also....much appreciated
That's right....saw you on it on wednesday at pipe.......in a moment of weakness I told you there was that big set coming & I thought you would go right & i would go left but you had no mercy & went left
Hey Gizzie, wish we had crap waves like that up here regularly!!
6 guys hey, try 60 and that is on a bad day.
ET.
Yep your a good mate I should have gone right
Yeah Gizzie I wondered what those black things were that you wear.
I reckon I could get used to them if there were regular good uncrowded waves.
I don't own a wetsuit over a short john.
ET.
Still better than Perth a kiwi mate just gave me a surf book south island (no waves there hey ) will be heading there soon looks sooooooooooogooooooooood
Mostly crap waves down south too.....you might even end up in somewhere like here (was going to try & spell it but its a bit of a tongue twister)
Nice pics Gizzie as far as the crap waves mate I would crawl over broken glass to surf those at the moment , we have a serious wave drought here on the Goldie for the last couple of months.
A couple of months is quite a long time Piros.....a week or two here & people start going crazy (er)
Just north of meat works booked on the ferry 20th Dec hope I catch Mungamurnu working
Right next to meatworks......it is maungamanu (the spelling) i think....but so many people spell it wrong its easy to get confused. (and i could be wrong too).
You turn off the main road on the way to meatworks & maungamanu break starts after you cross the railway line & hit the beach....meatworks a few hundred yards further along the gravel road
Lots of paua yum yum (abalones to you foreigners?)
Kewl.....have surfed meatworks a few times....seem to remember can be hard to get out of the water (shorebreak/rocks). But at least once when was breaking further out & in a tidier manner.
Used to be wasteland near the river where you could squat/camp
Don't know if gate still unlocked. But a respectable bed/breakfast place right across the road from meatworks.
Nice to know your visit to giz was good
