Look at what we have to put up with
Our long-awaited swell arrives....a big crowd of three people.
Didn't take my camera out into wave zone...have ordered additional waterproof bag for it

Nice pics Gizzie Glad you got some good ones. That wind looks cold. Whats yr water temp down there these days?

Water temp 10 in wellington & 14 in auckland so maybe 12 here seeing we are bang in the middle.
The wind was a little nippy & must confess was clutching a hot water bottle as I drove to beach in wet suit
A strong off shore gusting to probably 45 or 50 kmh so you didn't really need to paddle...just stand & act like a sail

Makorori centre break was less sheltered from the wind.......no one volunteering to go out there
