A couple of photos from a June trip to the Maldives with "Liquid Destinations".... I would highly recommended these guys, they are really committed to getting the best "uncrowded" waves.....and surfing on your own...

Hey Gareth,

When were you there? I was the from the 15th to the 23rd of June and it was epic.
4-6ft. chickens it's such a rippable wave. I also had a blast at Quarters, Sultans and Riptides!!!

I need to go back next year.
If only those mofos hadn't smashed my board on the way back!!

Cheers,
Maya

Tough one Glen,

The Maldives down South are more remote & less crowded than the Mentaiwis, which is great for SUP's. The waves are not at close meaning you cant hop around as much if the conditions change. We had a pumped surf guide who was as keen to surf uncrowded waves.. which makes the difference.

We were all surprised by the heaviness of the waves, as the perception is they are not as heavy as Indo..

it's a toss up, i wouldn't take a SUP to Mentaiwis in peak season, but I would to the Maldives.

Hey Maya,

Wow, thats a coincidence..how were the crowds at Chickens and Riptides.. how many in the water.

Sounds like you were lucky with the swell too. Any photos??
