The 17km race from Dunethin Rock down river to Eudlo Creek was won by Ryan Keck in a blistering time of 1:46 minutes on his new Hobie, (his form going into nationals is red hot and the uni student is peeking at the right time)..
Also congratulations to Alan, Scott, Alison, all the Goldie Crew and my big brother Scotty, it was his first-ever race "you smashed it well done mate"!!!!!
If anyone has photos please post.
Cheers Jonesy
PS, Thanks to Johno at Cotton tree SUP fun for lending a couple boards to some newcomers.
Awesome paddle, hoping this event becomes as successful as Mullum to bruns. Definatly a beautiful area to paddle.
Thanks for the little battles the whole way pj, only just snuck by at the end :)
Well done to all who finished, was the longest paddle ever completed for a few people, definatly a great achievement. Surprisingly close field at the finish
Do we get club points for entering swanie??
Was a great paddle today. Agree, beautiful part of the world, even more so when the wind isn't blowing !!!
My wife took some photos, will post them now. Will need a new photographer next year, as I am hoping she will join us.
Thanks for the race battle, Juanita and Duncan, I think Duncan had a hidden sail, as soon as the wind hit, he flew past me. As for the boys out front, saw them go around the first bend, and never saw them again, very impressive paddling.
Was a big leap for me, as the longest run I have done before this was the Kawana Lake time trials at the open day..need to do a few more I think.
Nick
Just realised that some of you paddled the equivalent of four laps of Kawana Lake at the same sort of speed as you'd do one lap on a fast Thursday night time trial. Jeez!
