The plan is to meet at the boat sheds [opp Fed Square] at 7.30pm

Conditions look perfect.

Hi DJ,

Are there any special requirements for going along? Type of board, lights, reflection vest, fitness level, etc? Is this a casual paddle or a type of down winder?

Your board needs to be yellow..

Just kidding.. eveyone's welcome.. It's a very casual flat water paddle.

No need for PFD's.. [unless you can't swim].. Don't think anyone will be falling in..

I'll just be in T shirt and shorts.

It's a great place to paddle.

Usually no other boats at night.

Easy to get in and out.. and heaps of places to stop along the way.

Usually parking is no problem but get there early if you can.

I'll be there from about 6.30 and might grab a bite to eat first.. my number is 0433109989

I would love to be there! Alas, I have commitments yet again that prevent it *sigh*.

I hope there will be more of these paddles!

Have fun, and posts lots of pics DJ to aid my simmering with envy.

Definitely a casual paddle so there will be no pressure to keep up. As long as you are comfortable standing up on the board and can handle paddling for a couple of hours, you will be okay.

Some people are bringing along lights if they have them, or glow sticks or whatever. Doesn't hurt to be safe and it will make for a better spectacle.

As for the clothing, those coming up from Patto River are suggesting a Santa/Christmas theme, but please yourself.

It was awesome.. The best sunset ever at the end..

Mild conditions and one short shower came through that had us taking cover under a bridge for a few minute till it pased..

We will have to do it again soon..

This was the sunset over Patterson lakes last night...looking out from the back of my place. Would have been something special to experience it over the city. Unfortunately couldn't make it last night...looking forward to the next one.

Cheers

I was trying to work out how you'd seen my vid considering it hasn't finished uploading to Vimeo yet..

Then realized you meant the old vid from a morning paddle..

I got that last angle by using half a windsurfing boom.. and standing on one end.. It was a bit tricky..
