I surfed it or more correctly attempted to surf it at just a wee bit smaller than that on a 6'4. Local crew were on 7'0's and 8'0's. It was Summer a while back '94 maybe however and a few more people to deal with than this. Midweek, Winter and big. Best combo ever for nobody out.
The few waves I got at Bells that session were much like taking off in a Aeroplane, feel like you're dropping down going straight forever. It looks fat as well but don't let that fool you, take an 8 foot set on the head and it tumble rolls you under water end over end for what feels like forever. Just does not let go. Don't let go of your board!
We headed down the coast a bit that day and scored a certain religous rock at it's best. 6 feet, 5 people out and much like home on the Goldy minus the crowds, it was I imagine what Jefferrys would be like, rocky jump off and come in also. I love Victoria and I'd live there if it wasnt for Winter.
Still some nice bomb sets rolling through today too. And more of the same forecast for tomorrow. Then it backs off a touch for the weekend crew !
nice shots great wave , what were they calling it 6 - 8 ' , always bigger when your in it rather than looking from a distance.
How do ya get out on a sub ?
