Wow, what a weekend!

Crawled in last night at 4pm after leaving the presentation at 9pm - couldn't tear ourselves away! This one will go down in the history books! The first MAMBO with Paddle Surfing!

I reckon we could put up a whole MAMBO page with all the goings on, pics, vids and EPIC waves yesterday arvo. I won't spoil the fun for the others, but here are some of the hilights.

SUP'ing 5+ hours every day with the crew - every day improving on the last.
Seeing up to 20 guys and gals out at one time in pure glass yesterday.
Catching up with Dj and the 11' crew and watching them all get waves out at the bar early yesterday.
Watching Melissa (a mum who had to be in her 50's) catching her first left hander yesterday morning in nice 2-3 foot peelers.
Well earnt hangovers backed up by 2 bacon and egg rolls of the MAMBO barby - those guys rocked - cooking all weekend and always cracking a joke!
Our crew doing us proud at the presso!
Being out in the contest area yesterday as the swell doubled in size and the wind dropped !
Dogman, Casso & Lummer's (Matt) absoulety tearing the bar to pieces on overhead down the line left handers. Even getting hoots from the locals
DOGMAN truly getting what he deserved at the Presentation ( it was worth going down just for the presso - what a hoot!).
Also watching two teenagers ripping up the bar on SUP's!
Fred & Aurilie (our new friends from France ) doing tandem at the bar on head high waves
Watching Matt eating ice cream off the floor and then getting a full cone in the face
Merimbula and the MAMBO vibe! Sensational crew. Sensational vibe! Awesome weekend.

This was seriously is one of the best events I have been to. Everyone had a ball and Merimbula TURNED IT ON big time.

I am cooked like a lobster and have 3 hours sleep under my belt so its Nanna Nap time.
But I put my head own with one big smile on my face

Lots more to come.....

Mark it down for next year cos its going to blow up!

Sorry if this is un-comprehensiveable but I only got 2.5 hours sleep between getting home from a very long/late drive home and having to get up for work this morning...

What a absolutely awesomely fun weekend.

Sorry, I only took a couple of photos and no Sucker-Cam video - I was just too busy surfing my brains out, eating, sleeping and partying. There should be lots of great shots and footage, from other people, trickling through over the next few days.

Some highlights for me were:

- Being able to dedicate every hour of daylight to stand up paddling.
- Being able to share the stoke with some unreal people from around the country (and world) who are also super charged on the buzz that is SUP.
- Somehow sneaking into a place on the winner’s podium from a very talented pool of competitors.
- Being able to catch a few bombs at a world class wave (no names - but somewhere near where the contest was held).
- Being able to try a plethora of boards of different sizes and shapes.

Congrats to Dogman for winning himself a brand new Naish 9’6” - well deserved mate, couldn’t have gone to a nicer guy.

Well what a event that I'll never forget!
Meet some great people ,and even paddled with the legend DJ even though he talked me into my first downwinder in some serious conditions ......which I'm pleased I did ,to give you some idea on how big it really was some of the other SUP'S riders saw as go from bar beach towards Pambula and dissapear between the swells!
Caught my first SUP Wave Stoked at bar beach will take my 9ft 6 Mal next time great longboard wave.

Dogman (well done mate ,in winning the 9'6 NAISH can't wait to see some photo's of you ripping it up on your new board!)and the rest of the crew really caved it up on the waves ,was great to just to be out there watching them ripping it up!

My wife took some great photos ,and has passed them onto DJ so I'm sure sometime this week your see what a great event the Mambo really is!

To all the SUP'S who didn't make it this yr ,make sure your there next yr and the yr after as this was huge imagine what there 30th yr Mambo's going to be like!

Cheers

Hey AA,

You are so dead next time I see you out in the water!!!!
I am nowhere near 50!!!!!

This is going to cost you lots of nice presents over a very long period of time!

At least you got the bit about the left-handers correct: I can't wait to get out and go left again!

We had a fabulous time at Merimbula and met loads of really friendly people (even if they are poor judges of age!)

I am going to write a 1000 letters to Santa to apologising for my woeful indiscretion!

Just seeing your stoked out, smiling face is all the presents I need!!

Why does everyone start multiple topics on the one event?

Really, there is no need to have tens of Mambo threads, I already know about - and have so for sometime - it I didn't go, as some people had to keep this country moving, so it doesn't interest me in the slightest.
