it could be good to get you to an outer reef break with your short board on the deck.
then what anchor it?
paddle or catch a boat or a jetski.
Just what we need another motorised machine crusing through the line up - unable to read waves, sets and conditions. Yes would be good in experienced hands but there is a time that a line needs to be drawn in the sand. So although my line may not mean a lot to some I am drawing mine. This type of craft should be banned from areas where others are operating non powered surfcraft in my opinion.
Maybe an over reaction but lets be real - imagine it in the hands of kook......one of the greatest things about surfing is that when its big it stops people getting out - its almost self regulating. Today was a classic example when after a wave I got caught inside for 4 sets....failed miserably - had to head in, walk back down the beach and make my way out again through the rip. I was caught in that great spot where no matter what paddle pace you have - you are effctively going backwards, as you can not get any traction, so each time a wave comes you have no forward momentum and your duck dive means squat..........with something like the wavejet under me I would have been back out the back in a flash. Joy..........yet what happens when someone who has effectively no idea can crusie through the lineup causing chaos?
yes its a grainy photo but you can see that there was a bit of size today....my phone is crap but a new camera is on the way so there will be no excuses next time. That was taken around 4pm.......it was a whole lot cleaner from early morning until 3.30pm. I am sure that some pics will surface of todays action in the next few days. Love autumn on the east coast!!!!!!
