Well I just had to have a go today, even though it was basically flat. This is my new weapon.

I was amazed how good it felt, I have ridden the 11ft 4in a few times now in shoulder high waves and I am extremely happy with it, it surfs heaps better than my old 11ft 6in. The 9ft 6in is a completely different animal, Yes it is tippier, but I was suprised how manageable it was as I am 95kg plus lots of rubber! It handles a dream and I was suprised it was not a lot harder to get on the waves than the bigger board, yes, I will have to concentrate more, but OMG once you ride a wave on it theirs no going back its like my 6'8" with a paddle! Opens up a whole new world.

There is sand under there, I know it looks bad!

The cheer squad when I got one!!!

Where abouts are you in Tassie. I'll have to go there soon. Probably leave it till summer though. I bet there are some fantastic places to paddle there.

Im on the North coast at Turners Beach so the options range from the East Coast to the West Coast(BIG). Up until recently I was the only SUPer in Tas I think, but there is like 3 of us locally now and about another 6 in TAS, it will be huge once more of the surfers see it though, its well suited to TAS. There are some great spots in TAS to SUP and every other water sport. The shots were taken right on high tide at my local, its a funny beach there is sand under you at high tide even though it looks rocky and at low tide it goes a long way out, I rode the 114 here the 2 days previous and the surf was much better, I just had not had time to put the 96 together yet . The 96 floated me better than I expected actually. Hey DJ I am about 10mins from where the spirit of TAS ships come in to Devonport. I keep meaning to go do a SUP next to them and pics to do the right back at you session of St Kilda! Yes that is my daughter, thanks, I am sure she will grow up to be a champion Water Woman, shes into it!
