After nearly 2 years of debating, chatting to guys, and trying as many boards as I could, I finally got myself a Lahui Kai Jamie Mitchell 14.

This was actually the board which Surftech shipped over for Jamie Mitchell to race in the Doctor, but due to flight issues he did not make it, so I am told. So I was able to snap the board up .

Just wanted to give a big thanks to all those guys who helped by providing their advice and answers to my questions - the Hobie Guys, Scott at Greenline, Surfanimals, and of course the lads down at Longboards Scarborough.

Mmmm... Pink.. ..... Just kidding..

Paul's 14' Lahui kai looked like it was broken the other day until he unplugged it and it sprung back to the right shape.. It was a worry there for a few seconds.

Great looking board and paddles really nice.

Bet Paul was happy, has he got the Orcca 14 or the Mitcho 14?

Nice board Reagan. Hopefully next weekend we can get out for a paddle and the wind will be blowing the right way.

Paul's is the Orca.. Same shape I think?

Looks like you have a better fin.. His is the same shape but a bit soft and bendy.. IMO..

Should of come down to Mandurah mate.
Hilly and I hit the jackpot with the E breeze. We left from Nth Yunderup, not Sth Yunderup as planned (Hilly can't read a map ) The runs were unbelievable, surfed almost the whole way. Hilly did so little paddling he was complaning he was cold. His new board bloody flys. Spent the whole run laughing and hooting.
Definately a great spot for easterlies. So good to have nothing but windwaves and no swell from side on.
A run from the bottom of the estuary on a SSE would be huge.

I am starting to feel the pressure of everyone getting new boards so am thinking I will give the credit card a bit of a hit with the intentions of paddling every monday and Tuesday afternoons as they are the only days I don't have to get the little one from daycare.

Zimbo was your choice based on using the board to compete in the Doctor. I'm wanting to get a DW board which will best suit using in the Doctor. I competed 2 years ago in the "easterly" race on a JL 12'6 Albatross which I have since sold. I guess if that board was meant for the Jamie Mitchell to use in the Doctor then that answers my question. I just noted your comment that you did a bit of research and was interested in what you were looking for in a board and what led you to buy this one?
