After nearly 2 years of debating, chatting to guys, and trying as many boards as I could, I finally got myself a Lahui Kai Jamie Mitchell 14.
This was actually the board which Surftech shipped over for Jamie Mitchell to race in the Doctor, but due to flight issues he did not make it, so I am told. So I was able to snap the board up

Just wanted to give a big thanks to all those guys who helped by providing their advice and answers to my questions - the Hobie Guys, Scott at Greenline, Surfanimals, and of course the lads down at Longboards Scarborough.

Paul's 14' Lahui kai looked like it was broken the other day until he unplugged it and it sprung back to the right shape.. It was a worry there for a few seconds.

Hilly and I hit the jackpot with the E breeze. We left from Nth Yunderup, not Sth Yunderup as planned (Hilly can't read a map 
) The runs were unbelievable, surfed almost the whole way. Hilly did so little paddling he was complaning he was cold. His new board bloody flys. Spent the whole run laughing and hooting.
Definately a great spot for easterlies. So good to have nothing but windwaves and no swell from side on.
A run from the bottom of the estuary on a SSE would be huge.
So I'm wondering with all these people getting nice new boards are we gonna see some more faces on our arvo downwinders?????? 
Zimbo was your choice based on using the board to compete in the Doctor. I'm wanting to get a DW board which will best suit using in the Doctor. I competed 2 years ago in the "easterly" race on a JL 12'6 Albatross which I have since sold. I guess if that board was meant for the Jamie Mitchell to use in the Doctor then that answers my question. I just noted your comment that you did a bit of research and was interested in what you were looking for in a board and what led you to buy this one?
