HARRY'S PADDLE

22-23rd March 2014
Stockton NSW (Newcastle for this not familiar with the area)
The 'Race to the Bridge and Back' will be on again in 2014, and this time it's going to be a 2-day event with a BOP-style surf race as well.
Elite and Entry Level racing, lots of action on and off the water, and a great weekend for the family too.

www.facebook.com/events/450236728422978/?fref=ts

This event raises money for a local charity 'Harry's House' (The Harry Meyn Foundation) which is a retreat for families with children living with cancer or for families grieving the loss of a child to cancer within the past 2 years.

You can find more info on Harry's House here:

King of The Cut in Perth, December 8th. If you thought the Dr was a good run wait until you have 20 km with wind straight at your back. This time of year is much more reliable for wind (according to BOM it is the windiest period).

Plenty of prize money up for grabs and I believe Beau and Terren are coming over.

If there is only one trip west you make this season, make it this one.

Why would you need more details? That should be a big enough incentive already

Don't forget the Downwind Series on Sydney's Northern Beaches. A series of 7 races scheduled for either the Saturday or Sunday of each specified weekend. The race will be held on the day with the best conditions.

The 3rd race is this weekend. details can be found at:

https://www.facebook.com/SydneySUPDownwindSeries.

RACE DATES, POINT SYSTEM & CATEGORIES:

The seven events included in total point score with 6 Sydney SUPDW Series Races scheduled:

- 20th September 2013 (Reef2Reef)
- 26/27th October 2013
- 16/17th November 2013
- 21/22nd December 2013
- 11/12 January 2014
- 15/16th Feb 2014
- 1/2nd March 2014

There are 6 race categories for the series:

1. Men's Open 14' and over

2. Men's 14' and over - Over 50's

3. Men's 14' and over - Over 40's

4. Men's 12'6"

5. Women's Open 14' and over

6. Women's 12'6"

Points will be allocated for each race in each category as follows:

1st place ..... 1 point

2nd place......2 points down to

10th place....10 points with all places beyond 10th receiving 10 points.

If you do not race in any event you will receive 10 points for that race.

Each competitor will be able to drop the worst 2 results (including missed races) from the seven races to determine their overall series points score.

The winner in each category is the person with the lowest cumulative points score after subtracting their worst 2 scores. Category winners will each receive a series trophy.

The major prizes for the series will be randomly drawn.

Each race will be individually sponsored and there will be up to $500 of randomly drawn prizes available to all race participants at the presentations at the conclusion of each race.

In addition there will be another $500 of prize value allocated to the end of the series from each race - culminating in over $3,000 of prizes to be won at the conclusion of the series.

As an encouragement for participation and support of the entire series, racers will need to compete in at least 4 events to be included in the major prize draws at the series conclusion. These prizes may include a high value individual prize such as a new board subject to sponsor engagement.
