Seabreezers, I'm in the market for a new SUP as I feel it's time to step down from the excellent Naish 9'6". I was considering the Naish 9'3" but a mate beat me to it and I can't have the same as him (again).
Initial ideas are the new 9' Naish (the one to replace the 8'10" and 9'3" but I don't know anything else about it), Fanatic 9' (which looks good from the pics) or maybe a DC?
Key thing is I want a shortboard template - not the fuller nosed fish style.
FYI, I'm presently about 90kgs, balance is ok and I found the 9'3" had plenty of float.
Any recommendations? Any other brands I should look at?

I'd be hanging out for the new Naish 9'0" Hokua (like me).. It's going to be a special board.
With a slight concave deck like the C4 Subvectors will help with stability and some double barrel convace V bottom the boards going to be fast.. Updated rocker and new tail shape.. maybe even that new trick hand hole I can't wait to check it out.

New naish Hokua 9’0” and 8’5”
With the sport of stand-up paddling growing at a high speed, the development of performance SUP boards does not come to a stop. After setting the standard in short board style stand-up boards, we came up with two new designs that are poised to raise the existing standard.
Both boards combine a single-concave entry section in the nose area with a double-concave center section leading into an accelerated V out the tail. The increased tail kick allows these shapes to release off the top effortlessly while the center V-section keeps the shape loose and easy to steer during the bottom turn.
Unlike many other boards, the design of the 9’0’’ and 8’5’’ does not require you to shift body weight over the rocker as much, resulting in a shortboard-style riding. Both boards also feature a newly introduced deck concave, making balancing easier.

If you can get a custom for the same or even less $$ than a pop out I would think the decision would be easy.. As a true surfer of 35 years there is no better feeling than picking up a new custom built to your specs...
Disclosure.. I own a Naish 9'3 (great board) But I have a custom DC on its way.. and i know which one excites me more 
Hey Crash, have you tried the 8'4" Naish? I had one go and it felt really nice - I'm 82kg.
Or as mentioned, a local custom could be the go as well.
goatman, I've not tried the 8'4" - it sounds and looks pretty small. Unfortunately this will be my only board so it needs to handle the chop... The thing I like about the 9'3" is that it is still over 29" wide. If I see width measurements starting at 27"-28" I break out in a cold sweat!
milko, I understand where you're coming from but I do like the idea of better re-sale value with the standard boards. I would also like to be able buy the board from Windsurf 'n Snow.
DJ, looks like we're (probably) on the same page. Any ideas on release date?
What are Coreban boards like?
Looks like it can go either way. 2+1 is your standard thruster arrangement with a US rear fin box or you can set it up as a quad.

Hey Crash we have (just up the road from you) one of the new PSH 8'11 Rippers for DEMO.
When we can get the 8'9 Ripper back (come on SurfRod you've had it for over a month now!
), you can try that as well!

There are a couple of PSH 8'6 kicking around down here and people who have them are totally frothing! Both are 80+kg.
I also agree with Dj the 9.0 Naish looks great, was hitting Aiden up for a peakaboo today but alas no luck

Yer Crash, recommend you give the PSH a try before purchasing,especially if your after a shortboard outline,had a 8'6" wide a few months now and real happy with it
