I notice Kirsty's board has a handle up the nose,I was thinking of sompthing like that too.Does she like it,does it get much use.?
No Candice Appleby in the womens that's a bummer she was coming over for it , good to see a Japanese & Spanish competitors in the mens surfing and a Kiwi in the womens.
The nose handle is great and has saved her getting smashed a few times. So much easier to turn turtle and pull the board under.
She learned at Cresent during the Nationals huge white waterballs on SUP are an issue.
Have fun Kristi, you won't need good luck , ability will get you through!!. Bundy is awfully cheap up there Phill make sure you take full advantage of that situation.
***little known fact - Bundy and Orange juice tastes great and doesn't bloat you, but beware the following morning. We better see plenty of photos of the winner I hope!!
Thanks Leroy,
Hope the back is coming along well and your up and around soon mate.
The Noosa Womens Division has some great talent and will be very closely contested thats for sure.
Phill

Mac,
IMO There are 2 Aussie girls missing that really would really add to the event, Emma Webb and Shakira Westdorp!
That may get rectified at Nationals who knows.
Mariko Strickland is a weapon from Kaui and will definitely be one to watch.

I wasnt going to go Mac as I am run off my feet with work at the moment but I gave in tonight and booked flights and accom.
Lets hope it wont be decided in the 6 inch dribble we saw last year.
One things for sure it will be worth watching, but I would rather see the girls duke it out a 4ft+ Bells I can live in hope.
Phill
Going to be great lets hope the weather is good for the Southerners'
good luck to all competitors and have a great time.
Good luck all in this event. Sadly this is one of the first years i cant make it. Hope you get some swell like we did two years ago.
Best event in Aus for sure.
Look out for dogman in his new westsuit vest lol
Hahahaha still havent forgotten mate about the "run over" that's buried very deep in my head. hahahaha.
does anyone know if their are late entries or can one just enter on the day for the 5km sup race ???
and what race format is the 5km sup race ????
thanks
The race should be still OK to enter http://www.backbeach.net.au/surf_fest/ as there is no limit.
Agree with Phil last year was terrible , horrible waves and weather plus the shifting of all activities away from the event almost killed it forever. They have learn't their lesson and every will be on the Beach at Noosa and all the events are free. Still not impressed how they cut back Sup entries and omitted the over 45's this year. Last year their was a long waiting list for guys trying to enter. Doesn't matter I'll be up there again this year the with all the over 45's crew beer and camera in hand to record the event , it should be a blast.
Yeeeew.
P.S don't drop in on this girl....Go Jen
