Just got back from the North west trip with my family. Won't bore you with too many happy snaps but here's a few SUP related ones. Not many surfing ones of course as none of my lot are interested in sitting around taking video or pics.

Spent a week at a well known surf camp up there and had it's signature wave by myself most mornings - seems to be too cold for most crew who are happy to wait till it warms up about 10. I missed catching Hilly due to car problems unfortunately, he has some great pics though.

We did the Pilbura and Broome as well, awesome places with some great paddling. Flew Virgin with 4 SUPs, 2 shortboards, a boogie, snorkling stuff, spearguns, camp gear, all up 16 pieces of baggage...lol.

The Campsite:

The break:

Little Bloke paddling and surfing:

Rugrats doing some nice paddling:

Ha ha...yeah should explain the 2 shots of my little bloke. One is paddling at Ningaloo, the other is surfing at Cable beach, Broome. Hence the boardies in one and steamer the other.

Hey Phil, Eastcoast is right it's a WOW softy, great first board for my little fella. My youngest daughter is using that paddle you gave me BTW, the little guy is too small but he will grow into it. That's an old canoe slalom paddle of mine I modified that he's using.

You and your family should get up there some time mind blowing place.

I'm sure everyone knows where it is, but for the 3 people in Australia and overseas who don't maybe best if you edit out the locations especially when they're accompanied by such appetising pics.

Passed you as I was coming back Hilly. Spent two weeks south of where you were and left as the crowds came up. Looked at that long fast left you spoke about a while back. Extremely fast wave and very very shallow, need balls as big as watermelons for that break. How was the wind?, we copped a lot of strong SE which made it hard for the offshore reefs.
You did well lugging all that gear around Goatman, definately worth it though. Did you manage to spear anything?
Cheers

The JL got a good run offshore. The missus refused to sit in the boat for four hours out there at a time with the grommit and take photos.
Used the SB at that spot due to the reef, get trapped inside there and it gets bloody shallow.

Hey Cammo rented a Troopy in Perth and dropped it off at Broome, did 3500 km in 3 weeks - saw so much amazing stuff - the Pilbura is insane!!

I wouldn't recommend the hire company (Australian 4wd) the thing had the original fan belts on it and cost us a couple days of the trip after one broke[}:)] we camped for most of it in a crap tent they supplied as well - but all up an unbelievable trip.

Here's a couple more pics:

Yeah right Legion - the big G has been in just about every crap surf mag in the world - top secret, dream on. I live in Melbourne and I've been there four times...
Sorry mate but if you want to keep it free of people you're just going to have to spend a lot of time there and rely on your irresistible charm to do the trick.
