Phill, looks like Matt has no centre fin in his sup when he's doing the mattacopter?

Supping in the rapids looks insane (& I haven't been certified yet, leave that one for the experts & kamikazes )

Phil, looks fun. I cant wait for the day. You have gone off organising this event. Def will be grand.

Mollydooka, I had a 5.5inch clear bubble fin from Glide fins in the board. Its a clear fin so it does look a bit deceiving.

thanks Matt,
I tried it a couple of times on my old board (JL 11'), & managed to get the 10" single fin to side-slip part of the way (not much though ).
Current board (9'8" starboard pintail) has 8" fin with sides. But I guess it's still doable with enough weight on the nose?

I just found out that Naish are sending a couple of their new Paddles down for us to check out..

They're the only ones in the country.. They will be available to buy later in the next month (July) ... I've heard they're really good.

Update No.4

Well we now have crew coming from QLD, NSW, SA and Vicco (What no WA, NT or Tas well not yet).

Kristiana 13 and Nesha 11 are going to do a SUP flatwater and Surf Demo for the Kids to show them what can be done!

Matt Lumley will be doing a demo for the big Kids

I will do a demo for the KOOOOOOOKS 0.1 Ton Division

We also now have insurance as this became a requirement so I will be footing the bill because I want this to go ahead its gonna be a hoot! Ask friends and family along if we are gonna do this we may as well get value for money LOL.[}:)]

We have plenty of Marquees to protect us from the weather so that shouldnt be an issue either.

The insurance requirement means everyone will need to register on the day and only those that register will be able to demo boards.

I have also had to get a risk assessment adviser to attend on the day and that person has dontated thier time just so we can make it work! (HUGE THANKS)

God if I had only know how hard this would get PMSL.

Rod Hocker is also going to be attending with boards so all those of you with questions save them up and chat in person on the day. (Thanks for your support Rod)

I think we have now covered almost all the board brands so it really will be a smorgasboard to choose from!

NEXT YEAR I will be runing a full on Social Event as now I have had to go through all the hoops and head aches I intend to put the knowledge to good use!

Huge thanks to the following peple yet again:
Surfing Victoria
Surfing Head Quarters (SHQ)
The SUP BUS
SOUL
GSI
Rich Bartles and Strapper Surf (Session)
Matt Lumley
The whole OG crew you know who you are!
And all the people who have said they will assist on the day.

Dont forget to bring the wife and the kids to have a go!

Looking forward to seeing you on the 13th Jun Ocean Grove Main Beach Carpark 9.00 am left of the main toilet block area! Look for the Marquees.

Please register at www.oceangrovestanduppaddle.com so we can have a list to meet insurance requirements and just tick everyone off on the day!

Looking forward to seeing you on the day.

Update:

Well only 2 weeks to go now!

Rich has just advised me that he will be bringing along a couple of Jason W's beautifull wood paddles and he says they have to be seen to be believed.

DJ has a couple of new model Naish paddles as well that have not been released yet.

I think we have all bases covered for an awesome day, we even have enough marquees if its bad weather so dont let that put you off lol!

The kids are champing at the bit to get going now!

Come have some awesome fun!

Phill, Kim and the Kids

Forgive the obvious question, but exactly where will the SUP day be held? I'm sure it will be easy enough to find once we're there but...?

On the surf, or on the river, or both?

Hi Gorgo,

The Sup day will start at the carpark left of the Main Beach Toilet Block at 9.00am sharp look for the Marquees. We have asked everyone to register on www.oceangrovestanduppaddle.com so we have an idea of numbers for the day.

All details are on the site and you can also call me (Phill) on 0407 051 947.

We will look at how many people we have that are total new comers and those that have some experience.

We can arrange to take or direct the newcomers to a very safe spot on the river and hold a Stand Up Paddle Clinic for them at approx 10.30am.

We will all meet back at the boat ramp at approx 10.30 - 11 for the expression session followed by lunch.

People will be able to demo boards only after they register as this becomes an insurance requirement.

Again any other details anyone needs please call me on 0407 051 947.

Best regards

Phill
