Check this out... Anyone seen these available here yet?

www.aqualifeglobal.com/index.html

The vid seems Aussie.. But the contact info is China (not that there's anything wrong with that)..

You can pull the cord and turn into Pamela Anderson..

lmao DJ, great product. just wonder how uncomfortable the CO2 cylinders are, however, better than wearing a larger PFD!

You're asking me?

Though I suppose I do have a thing for inflatables.

Why not just put an inflatable life vest under your wet suit, it will give options in different ways of use to suit needs?

Would this work, I am going to give it a go.

Another thought if one is fashion conscious as in kite surfing with board shorts on the outside then the inflatable could also be worn on the outside.

I guess check the local scene first or be a trend setter.

I think Polakow was working on something like this years ago...but don't know if anything made it to production.
Either him or maybe Laird.

I think it's a great idea for some situations...eg, breaking a leg rope at Big Left when it's 6 to 8ft.
Surfing any bombie really. I'd buy one...all black though!

This sort of product is logical and I feel we will see a lot more along these lines in the next few years. Dorian and Co use similar stuff for silly waves. Only problem will be that it will put people in the line up that should not be there as they haven't enough experience to conduct themselves in a safe manner.

One down side with this product is that even though the components they use are the same as those used in a PFD type 1, the shirt itself is not classified so far as I can tell and therefore may not be satisfactory where PFDs are mandatory.

These guys http://evie.net.au/assets/InflatableRashiCert.pdf have a certificate that says they are certified to as4758.1-2008 Unfortunately they have the crappest web site ever. The size guide makes no sense at all. It all reads like really bad chinglish.

If I were going to wear one I would want hi vis one. If you're going to be safe you might as well be really safe.

Agree, it obviously appears to be a PFD Type 1 Inflatable (variation).

PFD 1 needs to have a neck collar...this doesn't appear to have enough of one, but more than a conventional 2 or 3
