Only 11 weeks till the "Paddle for Pete 2011 in memory of Pete Bilsborough" Sunday 11th September. Lock it in your Diaries. Lets make this year huge.
More details to come. There is a FB page for more info.
Please get behind this if you are able to.
Some details of why :
A memorial paddle to raise awareness and support for Spinal Injury Victims.
In memory of Pete Bilsborough who was injured in a tragic surfing accident over the Easter Long weekend 2010 and not long after sadly passed away.
After last years being such a great success with so much community support, Pete requested before he passed that we run the event each year to help others like him.
I encourage you to get behind this years Paddle, it is looking to be another great one.
Station beach at Palmy mate, same as last year. Will set the course closer to time. But there will be long course, short course and novelty course for groms and newbies of all crafts
Sounds like fun Pete, good on you for organising, I will hopefully bring the most of the family down.
Only a month to go guys. Looking forward to seeing you there. Get the word out as much as you can. Cheers.
Cheers Pete, sounds good. The little dude will probably be keen. He is frothing on the club comp this weekend. 2 heats then an AFL game at 11.30
Just heard this event is now open to OC6's. Will try to rustle up a crew from Mollymook
Can't seem to find the facebook info page either?
Hey Guys, the facebook page is up see below: Look up Paddle for Pete

Yes OC6 crews are welcome for sure. We have adjusted the price as well, to make it a little more affordable (spare cash for coffee)
So entry now is $40 and if your not a Paddle NSW member $45. OC6 crews are a flat fee of $100, same goes for surf boats.
We are frothing. Some great raffle prizes rolling in and dont forget there will be a fun novelty race at the end for newbies, kids and big kids :)
So if you bring down a few spare boards :) ha
hey guys and girls, it is on THIS WEEKEND, it has come around quick. There will some cool raffle prizes up for grabs.
Get there if can and support a great cause. See you on Sunday :)
P4P Update With Current forcasts looks to be a 5km lap for short course and 2 laps for long course. Similar to last year. It is going to be a great day, if not to paddle just to watch surf boats race OC6's :)
My new DEEP 14'er will be here just in time for Sunday. You boys will be able to check it out - from behind! Ha ha ha.
Hey Pete - looking forward to Sunday.
Quick question: will you have kids/novelty race before or after 10K race?
Just organising logistics.
Thanks, D
With the wind WSW and swinging possibly SW, I have set out the below course for Sundays Paddle for Pete 2011. Depending on conditions it may change
Looks like the Manly Daily is going to do a write up for us tomorrow...stoked. Looking forward to seeing as many SUP's and other craft there as we can muster. Conditions are looking "interesting" but it for a really good cause, so if you can get there is would be hugely appreciated. Pete
