after rescheduling the date, the paddle for Pete is on this Saturday and is looking like it is going to be a great morning.
Alot of local crew are talking about coming, and there could be some famous faces in the surfing / Supping crew there.
Along with a few surf boat crews, ski paddlers and I am not sure who else. Might even get a few boogie boarders :) All in all it is looking great, and would be awesome to have a good SUP presence there as well.
Below are the updated details, and course. See you there. Pete
only a few days to go, we are setting up online rego. As interest has really exceeded expectation. I will post the link this evening
getting close now. Thanks so much to Michael Jenkins , a breezer who donated a amazingly cool piece of art for the event. wind surf and snow, for donating a paddle to be raffled off. Blast paddlers and Think Kayaks for putting up some great stuff, and quiksilver for donating some great gear packs......
So far the word has gone out to pretty much everyone in the paddling community, so hoping for a great turn out. Any breezers who can make it please come, and represent the SUP community at this event.
also with the predicted NW to WNW winds in the morning. I am 90% on reversing the course, unless the prediction changes between now and tomorrow night.
hey guys, if anyone is coming down and has a spare board and paddle. Can you bring it along.
I should be picking up a few boards this afternoon, but if I cant get them. I know of 8 people who want to SUP on the day but don't have the equipment. I am bringing down my boards, but only have one paddle. So even extra paddles would help
Cheers guys.
hey Pete good luck for Saturday hope there is a good turn out for you. You & Dez have put in a massive effort getting it all up and running would be great to hear a positive review afterwards.
Fingers crossed you get some ideal conditions !
thanks mate. conditions are not looking perfect. But it for a good cause and we will make the best of it.
putting together a possible 5km loop in pittwater trying to avoid most of the westerlys. So the long course will do two laps.
Will have to make the call on the morning though, as It is hard to tell right now
Massive thanks to the guys and girls who came down on the SUP's today for Pete's paddle. we got around 138 entrants on all form of craft, and with everyone's generosity were able to raise up to $9000. Appreciated enormously the prizes donated by wind surf and snow, and Michael Jenkins.
Also a thanks goes out to Walk on Water (Neil) who helped out with the demo paddle.
In not ideal conditions weather and wind, the morning was a cracker. Results and Photo's to come..........
